  1. I have heard that consolidation/counseling programs do more damage then good. Right now the only neg on my CR is the amount of debt and I was hoping not to damage it any further. I feel if I am going to damage it might as well stop paying and start eating again ( ok im being dramatic). I currently pay $615 a month to my credits cards. I just want to make 1 payment a month and keep it at not more then $400.
  2. I am trying to consolidate my debt (20k spread out over 10 cards). Lending CLub and Prosper said no because of my amount of debt. Which makes no sense to me if I had no debt why go to them. Anyways with a co signer what bank gives personal loans?
  3. really no one?
  4. Is their any company that you guys recommend that handles Debt Consolidation Loans. I have 15-20k in debt and currently make $600 worth of cc payments a month. I would truly like to just make one payment for at least $300 less. I have tried to do balance transfers however the majority of my cards are currently maxed out. My Credit is in good standing with only one unfurtnante Late payment reporting from over one year ago. I am currently trying to get that removed.
  5. Who would give someone with $20,000 in cc debt a personal loan?
  6. Im curious if this has ever happened anyone. I have too much debt and I am considering to just stop paying a few cards. I honestly rather have bad credit than to deal with so many payments and the balances that never go down. My only concern is if I ever have to look for a new job can I really be refused employment?
  7. I am curious why wouldn't it be worth it? Let me give you an example of my paycheck this Friday (and I don't mean to post a topic twice since I already have a different post on going. I was hoping to keep this one strictly to lending club or proper). Pay check $1200 - 100 Electric - 95 for Dell Card minimum payment this month since I forgot to pay last month. Honest to god mistake it happen when you 13 payments a month. - 62 for school loan - 226 for car loan - 75 for Amex - 65 for Citi Master Card - 25 for Citi Amex - 73 for Barclays Master CArd if I could just make one payment a month it be so much more easier on me. I make about 5 cc payments every two weeks sometimes more (since it is 13 cards).
  8. As you might or might not have read from a previous post. I am trying to pay of $20,000 in debt that is accumulated among 13 different cards. With Balances ranging from $100 to $4000. The amount of payments is hurting me so much that I sometimes forget one didn’t get paid and by the time I realize its past due (though just a few days never over 30 days). I always make the payments but it just seems I am only working to pay the credit cards and the balances never go down. If I could just make one lump payment each month it would be easier on me and less stressful. Many Great people on this board gave me suggestions that ranged from paying using the snowball effect to getting rid of my car and taking a bike to work. I have considered a PT job and I am currently looking. While researching ways to pay of my debt I came across to possible loan solutions. Does anyone have any thoughts on Lending Club or Proper. Neg My Util is probably high and I am sure my debt to credit ratio is HIGH. I do have a student loan and Car payment which is always paid and I have it reporting for years now. I have no charge offs or collections ( that I am aware of). I have no inq that I can recall. I did ask for two credit limit increases lately one with Amex and one with UMB
  9. What about Credit Counseling with Nova Debt or loans from LendingClub.com or Prosper.com??
  10. I budgeted my husband and myself out of about $39,000 worth of debt (student loans, spazzed out shopping spree credit cards) on an income of (35k-45k (promotions)) in 3 and a half years time, paying a car note, rent, and just starting out buying furniture for our home, birthing 2 children within those 3 years and a half. 1. Self control, we went to the park, watched the same dvds over and over again, I almost always cooked our meals, and no spur of the moment shopping sprees. 2. I saved at least $100 a month, no matter what especially after the kids came. 3. I paid off the smallest balances first and then paid off the rest Highest APR first. 4. I bought clothing as needed only on clearance (and still do to this day) best time to do it is after a holiday, Easter, St. Patty's, Christmas day that goes for household items too like plates, blankets etc. 5. Treat yourself once and a while, if you don't you'll go crazy. 6. I did downsize our home and went from paying 785 a month to paying 550 a month, depending on where you are that $600 a month rent may be pretty good. 7. If you can get a 20k loan and get payments like $400 a month, still pay the $600 every month on the loan. 8. Cut out the lights when you aren't using them, do not do Christmas lights outside. (limit the tree light time), unplug the microwave when you aren't using it, use power strips and flip the switch when you aren't using the electronic. Take no more than 10 min showers (ask your wife nicely) I know there is a lot more, I will post things randomly when they come to mind. I wish you guys the best of luck!! Thank you for your advice!!! The turning the lights off is hard since I live with a roommate. I can only do so much on my part but I cannot control others. She is one of these people who falls asleep with the tv on.
  11. Thank you all for your comments!!! In regards to the $500 LE. I fill up my gas tank once a week and that’s normally $35/$40 each week. I normally only drive to and from work. I do however occasionally have to go to the grocery store/my parents/Target. That now leaves me $340. Say I go on a Canned Bean Diet or Romaine Noddle Diet. The minimum I will spend on a food a week and still have 3 meals a day is $50. So thats $200 a month. I am now left with $140 a month. That $140 can go towards a card but then what happens if I have an unexpected emergency or need to buy something for the apartment even a light bulb/soap/toilet paper.
  12. Apologies for the confusion but no I am not supporting any family members.
  13. So pay off all the small balances first?
  14. What company did you use?
  15. I work 11 miles each way to work. Its one straight shot on the highway. I would not be able to bike.
