  1. I just want to punch a wall right now! I had a comcast collection fall off at it's required drop off date (yippy and it was only on TU) two months later Stellar Recovery reinserts the collection on all three and my score drops nearly a 100 points. Time to attack! So I'm guessing SOL on the debt. It's like it became SOL on comcast's side, it dropped from my report then they sold it to Stellar. I've received no letters from them, no phone calls, nothing. Anyone have any experience dealing with Stellar?
  2. I would try vwvortex.com and search the forums for your generation of car and post in there. There's also "Ask a Salesman" threads in every model forum. Or contact VWOA
  3. You cna also check the credit pulls database. Just click on TU for your search results and there ya go
  4. CK also does weird things all the time and I only trust it 50% of the time. It list me as having a "D" for on-time payments. 305/312 payments when I only have one late payments in two years. It's counting everything I've ever did. Maybe pull TU and verify if it's correct?
  5. When my old repo was on my report I could still get loans. In fact I got 3 motorcycle loans and two auto loans. But the repo was the only thing wrong on my report besides old school loan lates and my score was still mid 600's. Low balances on my cards, etc. So maybe that helped, I don't know. I would also think that the amount you put down might offset a negitive on your report but I have no proof of that.
  6. Well ok then...thanks for the speedy responses. I hate spending my own money..lol.
  7. Is it possible to use what you've paid in rent monthly towards or as your downpayment if the owner is willing to do that? So if I've paid $16200 over this year cna that be used somehow as me already putting money towards the house nad it work to our benefit somehow? My landlord wants out from the house to move into his new house with his new bride. House is great, he's paying for the inspection and has agreed to fix anything the inspector finds, etc. I'm in a position to go a FHA route but I'm open to other types of loans that may work for this as I'm unsure if FHA would even consider.
  8. Ah just saw this post but look for mine I just posted. I used one of the GW letters from here but added what happen in my situation and it worked for one so far. My reasoning was that I had a coupon book for the payments. I was in the military and was deployed. My folks were paying my loans for me since they were my beneficiary's. The book ran out and my folks thought I was done. I cmae back from my tour and hell I thought I was done too. Time went on then bam I get a letter with everything we hate to read. That explanation I guess was good enough for them. I'm now hoping the other two CR's will do the same.
  9. I can't believe my own eyes but all I did was send a GW letter to Direct Loans to remove my lates from almost two years ago and today I pull my reports after sending those letters three weeks ago and EQ has them all removed! I mean I had a ton of lates, over 180 days. So now, the waiting begins again for TU and EX..crossing my fingers the other will show soon, IF they do..lol
  10. I'm surprised you were told to do a vol-repo..are they crazy?! I mean your only $3k upside down, that's nothing and to turn in the car to have your report show a repo for 7 years is not the smart thing to do.
  11. Anyone have any experience with this? Can the landlord somehow include what you've paid in rent thus far? And how does that work? Is it included with the downpayment or taken off the price of the house? I should be qualifing for a VA loan but I'll find out in a couple weeks. We won't be going through a realitor but will be getting the home inspected paid by the landlord. I already know everything that's wrong with the house which isnt anything really, just needs to be updated. I know how much he bought the house for four years ago to which he told me he knows he won't get anything close to what he paid. He's in a huge hurry to sell because he just got married and the two of them have found their home they want but they need to sell off both their properties..lol. So how should I go about this. The broker is a friend of the family that we'd be using.
  12. Someone I know bought a new Toyota truck. Got a horrible rate so after 6mo of perfect paying he refied with his bank and got a way better rate. He even did that with his Harley after 6mo.
  13. So I havent had a Qwest account in almost 8 years. Last night I get a collection letter from some company claiming I owe Qwest $117 adn that if I don't respond they'll mark my report yada yada yada. It's not on my report now so I'm wonder what the heck happen. Why now? What made this come up, etc? On top of it, I have no idea what this is for..lol Ahhhh fun times
  14. Funny you mention this....The auther was just in our office giving a presentation of the course/books if you will. Everything he talked about and in his book is already listed on here. All the letters, attack plans, do's and don'ts, everything is already listed here. I really didnt see anything new that I didnt already get from here. Nice guy, know's his stuff but I was concerned when he said he didnt know the Fed regulations on credit scores or acts or laws. I don't know if he was just saying that because of the amount of time he had or what but it raised my attention when the question was ask and he couldnt answer it. He also said getting incorrect info off your report is as easy as mailing a letter to them. They will take it off right away. Stuff like that just made me worry about the folks in the meeting that had no clue to repairing or improving their score. I suriously hope none of those folks go out and do something that will bite them in the butt down the road. *Just a disclaimer.....I don't work for a credit type company but we have a branch that does build business credit for customers. Our company is looking into a joint effort with his company to bring in personal credit.
