  1. I just received yet another credit card in the mail. It's the Chase Universal MC. I had completely forgotten that I had applied for it. So now that makes 3 cards I have that come with some sort of rewards, including my Carnival Sea Miles card, and my AMEXx Delta Sky Miles card. On top of that have several other cards that don't have any rewards. I don't think I will ever use them again. LOL! How do you all decide which card to use?
  2. Update: I just called Target and spoke to a very nice lady who explained why I was declined. She said every so often the CRA's will send out information to lending companies and that info is often stored on Target's system. So when a CLI is requested, they usually go based on that info. However, the info used to base the decision can be very dated and the only way to bypass that is to request them to do pull a live credit report (soft pull though). So, she just did that for me and I was able to get a $100 increase, from $200 to $300. No a lot, but I am happy with that. She said in 3-6 months I should ask again and will probably be approved.
  3. my score doesn't seem to work anymore.
  4. oh, okay..thanks!
  5. Mal..what's CCB?
  6. Can someone please tell me how long will I have to sit and stair at this miserable $190 credit line at Walmart. I have only had the card since last month and I haven't used it yet. Do I have to use it to see an increase? And how long about at minimum will I have to wait. This CL is killing me. Also, same question for Target. I have had that card for over a year and still only have a measley $200 limit.
  7. Oops, sorry for the double post!
  8. Mal...when I did my balance transfer, they gave me a rate of 2.99% for 6 months. At 29% you are paying WAY TOO MUCH!
  9. I asked for a credit line increase and I was told no. However, the rep told me if I do a balance transfer, that will add to my credit line. So I did and it brought my CL to $1000. 10 days later, I noticed that an additional $300 was added. So in total my credit line went from $300 to $1300 in less than 2 weeks.

    AMEX...yay!!!

Geoarge, I know you are trying to help. Thanks! Exotc: They pulled TU and my FICO score at the time was 672. Nearly_there: I had one baddie on that report-lates on a student loan. Nothing else.

    AMEX...yay!!!

Hey George. I wasn't planning on really doing a BT. My Cap 1 cards get a much better rate (2.99% for 6 months). I just used that to see if I could get any increase at all.
  12. So I got my card today with a $2,000 credit line. I just called to activate and see if they would give me an increase. The rep asked me how much more I wanted and I told him $750 so I could transfer some balances. He puts me on hold and comes back to tell me that I was approved for a $2,000 increase. So now, I have a brande new AMEX Delta card with a $4,000 credit line. Woohooo!!! But what is even cooler is that they said I can set up my card to pay my recurring cell, home phone, and other utility bills and I would still earn miles on those recurring charges. Saweet!!! AMEX is my new best friend.
  13. Yay! Bye bye bad debt!!!
  14. Does paying them off have the same effect as revolving accounts?
  15. Well we were planning on buying a vacation home in Orlando this summer, but we have decided to move that back to next summer. I wanted to get my scores up around 700 (EX has dropped to 633, but both EQ and TU are slightly above 700). There is only 1 negative left and it's on my EX report (60-day late reporting on one of my student loans). I have now been approved for 5 new credit cards (including AMEX Delta..yay!!!)and wont be applying for any more. I just want to sit back and let my new cards age. My current utulization is around 20%. I want to lower and keep it no more than 10%, left some old inquiries dropp off, and watch my score grow to about 750 - 800 by next June. This way with mine and DH's good credit, we can get a prime rate for a house.
