  1. Ok. I'll go ahead and pay it off. Thanks for you reply
  2. Hi everyone, I wanted to get some advice or correct information, and figured this would be a good place to start. I have/had a Kay account. I lost my job and was unemployed for a 3 1/2 months. During that time Kay fell pretty low on the bill priority list and I fell behind. I am newly employed and trying t get things back in order. I called Kay and they advised the account has been closed. I pulled my reports and it shows the same. My past due balance is pretty much the complete balance. She advised I could pay it off and my report would be updated to paid. She also advised I could do a settlement of about 1/2 of the balance and it would update as paid too. She said in both instances, I could apply in about a 6 months and it wouldn't be held against me. That doesn't really matter to me, because I doubt I will get another Kay card anyway. My question is......is it too late to rehab this account? Once it's closed is the only thing able to be updated..the "paid" status? Have I lost all ability to get it to report pays on time, versus the 90 days past due?
  3. I figured as much. One of the cards 90 days is pretty recent...because I was playing catch up and even though I was paying every month....it was still behind. The other one, I have managed to put about 6 months good payments since last late. So it's best to just leave it alone and let it age?
  4. Hello All. I ran in to some financial problems and went 90 days late on both of my NFCU cards. Navy worked with me and added the amount due to the back of the loan and brought me current. I was unemployed. This has ofcourse tanked my score. I have heard it's a act of God to get Navy to goodwill off lates. At this point the account is doing me way more harm than good. Anyone had any success deleting a active tradeline?
  5. Ok thanks. Now off to see if I can get these old Macy's and BOA closed accounts to show "Never late".
  6. So the consensus is leave well enough alone? Quick question. I have some lates on a old closed macys account back in 2008. How long until the lates dont really affect your fico score?
  7. Online. Should I just call equifax in the morning. LOL I live in Atlanta, their HQ is right down the street....wonder what would happen if I just showed up.
  8. Hello all. I think I just made a pretty stupid mistake. I have a Havertys account I have been paying on since 2010. It was originally with Citifinancial ( I think )...and when GE bought the accounts, they closed my account. I continue to pay down the balance slowly due to the pretty decent APR it has. Well earlier this week I was doing a quick scan of my reports and disputed a old medical chargeoff to see if it would budge. I noticed that my GE/Havertys account showed a 30day late for August. It only showed on Equifax and not the other CRA's. I have paid the account on time from day one. Since I was already disputing one account I went ahead and did " never late " for the Havertys tradeline. Well I submit and get a result back pretty quick. >>> We have researched the credit account. Account # -------------- The results are: The prior paying history has been deleted from this account. If you have additional questions about this item please contact: Gecrb/Havertys, PO Box 965036, Orlando FL 32896-5036 Phone: (866) 396-8254 Not only did it delete the 30 day late...it deleted my whole 2 year pay history. Im afraid to even look at my score and see how hard of a hit I've taken. Any suggestions on how to get back?
  9. I posted in the Bankruptcy forum and now see I probably should have posted in this forum first. I included my house in Chap 7 and discharged around march of this year. I vacated the house right after I filed. I stop by and check for mail and just general condition of the house every other week or so. Last week I received a fed ex package from BOA that was asking me to sign up for the home retention program. My question is...how realistic is it that I can work something out with BOA to get the home back and loan reworked? The house has just been sitting there...no sheriff sale or anything and this fall will make a year. The house is grossly under water, so is it wishful thinking that they will work out something that makes sense....or should I just leave well enough alone since I have already taken the credit hit and stay away?
  10. Anyone?
  11. Ok thanks. No way to get them to re-report it?
  12. I just paid my minumum payment on my capone card. It was due on the 10th. I came across some money and I now want to pay the card completely off. Does anyone know when this will update on my credit report? Equifax to be exact. I want to apply for the NavChek but not until that card is paid off. Would love to have it before the end of the year. Have I already missed CapOne reporting period?
  13. I just got rid of AFNI. I owed them something like 563.00. I called and emailed (multiple times) their compliance officer. Told her I wasn't aware of the account but in the spirit of compromise I would pay for delete. She tried to play stupid with me and see if I knew the difference between an update and a actual DELETE. After I made it clear what I was asking for she advised she was going to check my account and contact me. I ended up calling her back a week later. She told me they were just about to send out a letter with a settlement of 200.00. Im thinking to myself my letter said I would pay in full..but what the heck i'll pay 200 bucks Told her to put it in writing and we got a deal. Said she couldnt put it in writing until after I paid over the phone. Told her it was a no go...and thanks but no thanks. I really wanted to get this off my report...so figured I would bite the bullet and take the chance. Plus I could just dispute the charge if it came down to it. Called her back and paid the amount. They sent out a letter saying the account was paid and would be updated. Then another letter came and said the account would be deleted from their records and they would send notice to CRA's. Check my report a week later and they were gone. Give her a try. Amy Acree 404 Brock Drive Bloomington Ill 61701 email amyacree@afninet.com ph 309 828-5226 ext 3358 fax 309 820 7005
  14. Can she send the insert A letter to the Dr Office after the fact. Like tomorrow...so they get the check one day and get the letter the day after. But instead of saying: "Enclosed please find my remittance of ($___) for payment in full of this account. Please note, my remittance is payable ONLY to (hc provider) and may not be signed over or transferred to any third party collection agency, as this would constitute an additional violation of HIPAA and State Privacy Act rules." Change it to say something in reference to a previously sent payment.
  15. *SIGH* Have another problem now. She misunderstood what I was telling her...and somewhere along the way she thought I told her to go ahead and send the dr office the payment. She sent them (Dr Office not Collection Agency) a personal check for 33.79. Does she still have any recourse now that she has just paid them?
