  1. SOL for my state is 6 years from what I;ve seen. (FL) So debt collectors don't actually need to answer these validation letters? And yes, they are a huge pain to deal with. I C Systems whom I just paid were extremely easy to deal with. My high is a 631 and mid is 607. I need at least a 640 in order to get enough of the loan. I'm preapproved for a small amount that's basically a crack house amount. lol The LO told me to try for a PFD, if not just pay to settle or pay the full amount, either will help as long as it shows a $0 balance.
  2. I had my credit pulled and I have two (2) accounts with Midland Funding. From what I'm reading here, I made a mistake by calling them and asking for a PFD and of course all of the people I talked to said no. Anyway, i have a few questions on how I should procede. The account I was calling on was one that I believe I had with Verizon Wireless years ago. (Looks like is was opened 11/08) and when my credit was pulled last sept it actually showed it "charged off paying under partial pymnt agreement telecommunications/cellular collection". However now it shows under Midland and opened 1/13. Does that mean the SOL started over? Something else I was reading here was to do everything through writing. If I do that, how do I get them to agree to a payement amount? Do I ask for a DV first? I have 4 negative reports on my credit. I just sent a m/o for one that was due to my wife not paying my sons DR when we moved fro VA to Fl. :/ 2 are with Midland. Verizon internet and wirless Last one is with Brighthouse that I'm working one because I know I paid them. All this is so I can buy a house. Please tell this noob how I need/should handle this to move on with my future. TY
