  1. Simple answer, perfect! Thanks Bob!
  2. Looks like this:
  3. Glad this came up. I have an old T-Mobile collection from them (ANFI). I called them and attempted to negotiate a pay for deletion. They said they don't do that, so not sure where to go from here either. It's only $150 and they are willing to take $100 and update the account with the CRA's as paid. However, I want this sucker off my report. Should I just pay it, then try to have it removed? Are the bull-crapping me on the pay for deletion deal? Should I just DV them? Any guidance is appreciated.
  4. I've looked through the master thread for Amex AU, but I am still a bit confused about this. My parents have agreed to put me on as an AU, but I am not sure it's worth the trouble to make my parents do this for me. I read this: http://www.credit.com/credit_information/credit_report/Consumer-Alert-FICO-Formula-Changes.jsp So if it won't really help my score, what's the point? I read on the master thread that it might help me get my own card, but is that all it's going to do for me? If anyone has solid new info about this, I would appreciate it.
  5. I just don't trust the big banks. Simple as that. They all will most likely be insolvent if/when the derivatives bubble finally blows the hell up.
  6. The moderator removed the link I had in there. Apologies for not reading the TOS for this forum more closely. This was certainly not a stealth ad, was honestly curious about it. However, sounded a little too good to be true... who better to ask than the lovely people here.
  7. I came across this site/product when doing some research. I was wondering if anyone has purchased this... and... if anyone has even heard of this 609 method the site owner speaks of. Take a look and thanks in advance for anyone that has feedback. Here's the site: NOTE: This is not my site, nor an affiliate link. I'm considering purchasing this, but don't want to waste my money.
  8. I'm pretty determined to have my credit where it needs to be ASAP. I've made a lot of progress and have a good grasp on how to handle most issues. However, I have 1 SL baddie that I am not sure where to start with. All others have fallen off my report because they were so long ago. It's only showing up on Experian. Here's what the entry looks like: Since it was opened in 02, I thought this would be gone too, but looks like since I make payments in 05, it's still there. It shows a balance of $0. I know handing SL issues on your CR are quite different than other tradelines. Just when I thought that I had a handle on things, there's a whole other story to learn dealing with SL's. What is the best approach to get this sucker off my report? Apologies in advance if I missed something in the pinned entries. And I really appreciate any help.
  9. Indeed it is. It's from one of those credit monitoring services. I get fresh reports every month. However, what you say might be the case. I have recently disputed and had all old addresses removed with EQ. So they should be sending me a new clean report with the changes here in the next couple of weeks. So I guess I will find out soon if that is the case. Suppose the case is there is no name from the EQ report directly. Dispute directly with them based off my original comment? If the EQ report does then provide a name. How would you handle this one? Direct to OC with custom letter? Or perhaps 1-2 punch?
  10. Hello all! First post for me. I've been reading so much and my journey to credit enlightenment has been underway for almost a year now. Thanks to everyone here for their help, and extra thanks to those that run this board. Ok, my numbers are starting to look respectable because many old baddies fell off early this year. I knew this was coming so I have put off my assault on remaining baddies until now. I am not sure what to do with this one. My EQ report shows 2 collection entries that don't even have a name. They look like this on my CR: Is this a case where I can simply write a custom letter to EQ asking them to remove this entry because there is not even a name attached to this? I would think that would work, or at least have a decent shot at working. What say ye? Any other advice on this one? Thanks in advance!
