  1. Ok that should be doable. I want to avoid those tradelines saying anything bankruptcy if I can.
  2. Hi All, Back in college my parents cosigned for one student loan and on my first car. However, I was talking with them last week and it looks like they are intending to file bankruptcy within the next year or so. Both loans are current and I'm paying them 100% since inception. So I have a couple questions: 1) What effect will them declaring bankruptcy have on those two notes? 2) Will my credit be impacted in any way? I have a couple cards that are known to be finnicky bitches to start with (AMEX, Barclays, etc) 3) Will it show up on my credit report? 4) Is there anything I can do to mitigate that impact? Unfortunately I can't come up with the money to pay both off. I'm getting married next year and paying that out of pocket. Any other tips? Thanks
  3. Hi All, Long time lurker. A while back I missed paying Verizon my ETF and it escalated and was sent to collections. I keep DVing companies just to have it passed onto another agency. I received this offer in the mail today. If I pay this in full does it satisfy the debt? Will another company end up coming after me? Also, out of the options listed what is the safest choice for me to pay them back by? Thanks,
  4. Thanks Marv Does anyone have answers to my other questions? 1) My current car was cosigned by my dad back in college. How do I go about dealing with the trade-in? The registration lists my name first and his name second. However, it makes no mention of "AND" or "OR". I've heard that if it's not specified, it's OR. 2) How would I deal with the trade-in using a credit union? I'm sure the current car loan would cause problems for them approving a new loan whereas the dealership could work it into the sale. 3) I know you can't predict rates, but do I have a substantial chance of getting a better rate than 5.75% that I got on my car in college?
