    Bump Influence XLIII
  1. I actually got that old CO deleted. It wasn't even my fault (I know, that's what everyone says) But this time, it really was chases mistake and they eventually deleted it. I just figured that it was in their computers or something somewhere. I had closed an old military account changed bases and forgot about it. I was young, never checked my credit. A few years later I saw a charge off for 5 bucks from an annual fee when I had closed the card years ago! So stupid. But anyway, it's gone now thank god!! Not sure I can get another CLI on that card, but I guess I can always try
  2. I'll probably just wait and let it age some more and hopefully get it cleared up next year. After fixing my credit and my husbands I'm kind of burned out on the repair side of things. I quit B* so I need to let some inq fall off anyway. What do you think about the NRewards? I wish I never would have apped for it because I'd rather have a 14k limit than the 11k and the 3k. I was just so excited when I saw the words 'APPROVED' I couldn't help but apply for another one.
  3. Only derog left is from my repo back in 2009 it's a paid judgement on all 3. No lates, or collections thanks to CB
  4. I am in need of some help...I'm pretty much done rebuilding. All of my 3 FICOS are now in the low 700's and I've been closing some cards. Mostly the subprime ones because they were stopping me from getting approved from the big names. Here are the cards I currently have open: Signature CashRewards - 11k NRewards Visa - 3k NavChek - 5k Delta Gold - 1.2k AMEX True Earnings - 2.3k Discover It - 800 OBEE CU - 10k USAA Amex - 1k Gymboree Store card - 150 (So funny, but I got it for the discounts) Old Navy Store card - 300 (again, for the discounts) As for balances I only have a balance on my OBEE CU at 3.99% of around 5k which will be paid off in the very near future. All other cards are at zero balance. I PIF every month. Chase and Citi still wont play nice and it's super frustrating. I'm currently gardening and hoping that early next year I'll be able to app for both of them and get approved. I added myself as an AU on my husbands Chase Freedom so hopefully that will help get me in. I had an old CO with Chase about 10 years ago and apparently they still haven't forgiven me even though it was only $5 As for the card I want to close, it's the NRewards Visa. NFCU wont combine limits which is really annoying and I feel like I just don't need it. Any suggestions? Anything the experts think I should add to my portfolio? My combined income is around 115k and we currently have a loan out on my car at 18k and my motorcycle at around 5k and our mortgage. Thanks in advance for the advice!
  5. I was totally expecting a denial... But got approved!! 2300CL! Not my highest by far, but my second amex so I'm a happy camper. I got my delta gold skymiles at the end of December. No idea what my Ficos are. Kind of stopped paying attention after my mortgage closed. Either way, they must be going in the right direction because AMEX used to always instantly deny me.
  6. I haven't posted anything in a while, and my scores in my signature are out of date, but I just wanted to say what a difference a couple years and some hard work make!! I've closed all of my rebuilder cards and have replaced them with Prime cards, I've refinanced my house (that everyone told me I'd never be able to buy with my 500 score) for a better interest rate. I've refinanced my vehicle taking an entire year off of the loan and still have a lower payment than what it was originally approved for. It's just crazy. There are no words for the way I feel right now. This week I've been approved for Discover IT, Amex Delta Skymiles, and also a local credit union called OBEE (who are amazing if you live in WA I highly recommend them) They called me as soon as I submitted my online application and asked me what credit limit I wanted since I've been so responsible with my credit!! OMG!! I almost fell off my bed! 2 years ago I could only get First Premier.. and now I'm only get instant approvals. Last time I checked my scores they're all hovering right below 700. I'm almost to my goal that I set of 750! To everyone who is just starting credit repair keep working at it. Don't give up!! This is so doable. It just takes a lot of hard work and discipline
  7. You don't need to write checks to use it, all you have to do is use your debit card.
  8. I got my first car through the Miles program. That was back in 2006, I was a brand new Airman and I didn't know any better. Too bad they're only going back to 2010. I swear, if that car wouldn't have been totaled I'd still be paying on it!!!
  9. Yup, same results for my husband. I hate Cap one. Why even have the link available.
  10. Awesome!! Congrats
  11. I was denied when I applied and called the backdoor number and got approved for 1k after explaining some negatives on my report. It was pretty easy. Here's the number I called: 866-408-4064
  12. My husband tried both of his accounts. We shall see...
  13. My husband works for his family, so when we were in underwriting it was a bit of a pain. They required copies of the business ownership paperwork from my father in lawys attorney and also copies of their state business licenses. We also had to write a letter of explination stating that my husband doesn't own any part of the company. It didn't stop us from getting our mortgage, it just added to the paperwork involved that's all. Good luck!! Hope that helps.
  14. My lender required all dispute annotations to be removed.
  15. Are you a member of any credit unions? Can you get into NFCU? I'm a member there with scores in the mid 600's and they've been very generous with me. That's not a huge amount of debt to consolidate so it shouldn't be too hard to do. Just check the credit pulls database and see where you've got your best odds of applying and getting a decent sized CL
