If it's CITI, then yes, you will have re-register the card to do online account management. This happened to me, and I only get electronic bills...didn't get a bill in September so forgot to pay, now I sit with an APR or almost 32% I'd check with the company, just to be safe.

Holy crap...I haven't been here in a looong time! Hi everyone! Just got home after and exhausting day; got the mail; letter from Donald S. Burak, Esq. who has decided that he would take this bolony debt over from my old buddy my pal Lawrence Hecker. Oh joy! (I'm a little too lazy now to find a reference post from back in the days, but long story short, he couldn't prove anything and we still don't know what exactly he wanted) The creditor is Crescent Recovery -- OC is Citibank, which I also think is crap since CITI has been loving us big time! What to do? Do I send him the letter and hope to hear from him (or not)? Or do I simply ignore it? This is for DH by the way, we cleaned up his credit and haven't had any little surprises like this in over a year. The previous lawyer, the biggest joke on the planet, never responded to any of the three letters I sent, and then disappeared. We honestly don't know what this is. Any insight, experiences or suggestions are welcome. Thanks, honeyo

PS. I didn't grow up in America. I did grow up watching COPS. I am SO afraid of cops I can die! I know it is very ridiculous but that is just how I am. DH says it is karma... That mouse again! Anyway, it is just my luck....I think I'm going to get wrongly accused and screwed by the justice system and then the stupid DMV screws up and I pay.... Don't know what is worse, going to the police or standing in line at the DMV.....

I definitely will not be going by myself. Even though I KNOW it is a mistake I will not put myself at risk like that. I doubt that it is the same name, since I have a very foreign first name.....but one can never be sure so we'll see. Truly hope it is NOT ID theft -- god what a nightmare! I will figure something out and hopefully get this resolved soon.....

I'd love to know myself..... I have no idea what to think about this -- I don't know where to start to clear it up..... I'm lost. As long as I do not get pulled over between now and the time I make it to the police station to clear this up, I am okay.... How crazy!

Oh and not to mention the nightmare this could be if id theft is involved!!!!!!!!

Haven't been here in a LONG while but need some opinions.... HI EVERYONE! So DH took my truck earlier this morning to go pick something up at his office. He goes into the building and says the he thinks someone is lurking by the windows. He goes outside to check it out only to find three police officers out there waiting for him. Who's truck is this? What are you doing here? Questioning begins. He says it's his wife's truck. Cops say it is quite suspicious that they pull in here to make sure everything is okay at this building just to find a parolee's car in the parking lot! And they keep asking DH what I was in jail for and if I'm sticking to my parole conditions!!!!!! OH MY GOOOOOOOD! I'm NOT driving my truck again until I can figure this out. I called the PD and they won't release any info over the phone so they want me to go to the station. I am totally freaked out. I have never even gotten a speeding ticket!!!! What if I am just going to the grocery store and get pulled over and they say I'm violating parole or something???????? They'll haul my little goodie tooshoes butt right to jail with out even thinking twice! I'm thinking that I should call the DMV about this aswell (what a joy), since they pulled my record up by my plates on the truck? Or should I go to the police station first? The best part is that DH just left for France earlier today and won't even be home for 10 days, in case anything happens..... Oy! Thanks for listening (reading)! I'm so nervous now!

Grisham? What do you mean "Grisham"? well at first you were talking about the DaVinci Code written by Dan Brown, then you go on to mention being excited about seeing the movie....well, John Grisham doesn't seem to fit in that scenario since he didn't write either the DaVinci Code or Angels & Demons..... that's what I meant....I thought it was a typo....hense the "Grisham?" Sorry -- I have a tendency to talk about more than one thing in one breath and confuse people..... Got that from my mum I just mean that I am excited to see The DaVinci Code. But hope that it is not disappointing like so many books turned movies. Like I have been disappointed waiting for a Grisham book to come out on screen and then be disappointed. Is that better?

I LOVED DaVinci Code so much I read it twice! I couldn't put that book down the first time I read it! Angels & Demons I was not too impressed with. Although a great book it just didn't pull me in like The DaVinci Code did. I am very excited to see the movie! Hope it is not disappointing. I love John Grisham but am alway left annoyed after watching the movies. There was only one that was good but I don't remember which..... must not have been THAT good then

As long as the letter offers a settlement for the original CO amount, I don't mind, even if it is out of SOL. They are a bear to deal with and i'd rather be done with this account for good. They will NOT settle for the original CO amount. Good luck on that! We settled for 50% of the current balance which was STILL over $1,500 more than DH's CL was! Absolutely RIDICULOUS, I know but hey, I am moving in to my new house in 10 days! So I try not to think of how they screwed us! Good luck again!

Whoohoo! Looks like everything is in great shape to close on April 18th!!! Loan was approved; inspections done; title order started! Yay! Sent over the contingencies form yesterday so just waiting to hear from Sellers on what they will or won't do. We're soooo excited! Can't wait to start moving! Thanks everyone!
