First off I want to thank everyone on CreditBoards for all the help and information during my credit recovery journey. I'll get into specifics in the "Success Story" forum. As part of that journey I enrolled in MyCreditKeeper in order to monitor my progress. It was very helpful even though I was cautioned the scores were FAKO not FICO. When I made my monthly visit today there was a message across the top that read:Capital One® has made the decision to discontinue this product. Memberships will end on July 31, 2013. So my question is what other monitoring services would you good people most recommend? There are lot's out there and with wide cost ranges. Thanks in advance!

Was just turned down for a bank loan today because it seems that 2 collection accounts on EQ and EX are reporting as unpaid!! I had sent letters asking both of them to revalidate after I paid the accounts off in the hopes the CA wouldn't report because they had been paid, but EQ and EX refused to reinvestigate. Now I'm p***ed off because they aren't even reporting as paid. I'm soooo bummed out because by reading the heck out of many things on this board and following much advice, I've bee able to get a credit card (unsecured), refinance my house (3.25%-down from 9%) and buy a car (2.99% financing)-I was feeling so good I thought I may even be able to get a small equity line of credit to take care of some home repairs, but NOOOOOO, because of these open collctions! OK, I'll stop ranting and raving and just simply ask for help.

Tried to apply for a loan and my credit report showed all my son's outstanding credit on my report. He is a junior. What is the fastest way to correct this?

Tried asking this in medical collections, but I think this forum is more appropriate. I have 2 medical bills that I disputed and were subsequently removed from my credit reports. Now I am being contacted by an attorney who is offering to validate the debt if I respond within 30 days. He is also threatening to sue for payment. I can and am willing to pay, but I don't want anything being added to my credit report. Can anyone PLEASE tell me if there is a letter I can send to negotiate this? I don't think a PFD letter is appropriate because nothing has popped up on my report. PRETTY PLEASE respond as 2 weeks has gone by and I need to get cracking on this!!! Thanks and much love to you guys!

Hi, I successfully had a medical collection (CBCS Collections) removed from my credit reports using WhyChats letters (Thanks Whychat!) . Now I've recieved a letter from a local attorneys office demanding payment for the same debt. The debt is indeed valid and I am willing to pay in full. This latest collector does not appear on my credit report (yet). My question is, if I pay these folks will they then report to the credit bureaus? The letter offers to validate the debt upon my request within 30 days, however it also states the OC reserves the right to proceed with a lawsuit against me without waiting 30 days. Again, I am willing and able to pay, but I don't want my credit report dinged! Any advice on how to proceed? Thanks to all in advance

Ok, first off I owe each one of you folks at creditboards.com a big ole hug! Thanks to you guys I got a paid judgement (tax lien) that had been reinserted on EX removed with one simple letter (man, those sample letters are great!). Through the entire process, I managed to get EVERYTHING (about 20 items) removed from TU (not sure if that's good or not). Now the last 3 things I need a little guidance on. 1. I have 3 unpaid medical collections reporting to EX and EQ. I sent PFD letters to the CA a few weeks ago and recieved a bill just demanding payment-no acknowledgement of PFD, just a bill. So I need to know if whychats hippa letter would be appropriate? 2. I have 3 paid (from August 2011) medical collections-Allied Collections, showing on EX. Is there any hope of getting those removed? EQ and TU deleted, but EX is being ruthless! 3. Finally, there is a paid judgement (Cap 1) from August 10 . The court responded to my DV by saying they don't report to CRA's. Is there any more I can do about that? As always, I am beyond grateful for any and all advice!

Re-send. I thought about resending, but due to the fact that the correspondence was a standard computerized bill, I'm not sure if it a human being read the PFD and sent the bill as a reply (thereby rejecting my offer), or if the bill crossed in the mail with the PFD. Maybe I'll give it a few more days to see if they send anything else before I start rattling their cage again........

Not yet, but now I will. Question? Can I also use that on the PAID medical collection as well? The folks at Experian are being buttheads. I just mailed them a letter because they reinserted a paid tax lein/judgement without giving me any notice! But thanks to creditboards members I found out thats a no-no.

Hi All, first thanks to the creditboards angels I have had much success in my credit repair journey. There are just a couple of blemishes left. One is a paid medical collection that EQ and TU deleted after I challenged, but EX REFUSES to remove. I will continue to hammer away on that though. What I am needing advice on is an open medical collection that I recently sent a PFD letter. I just got the response back and basically it's just a standard computer generated bill. There is no mention of them accepting the offer. Just a bill detailing what I owe. I made it clear in the PFD letter that I would pay in full for the deletion. Now what? I have read and reread that it is not a good idea to call them......Any thoughts?

Did the CRA's notify you within 5 days that it had been reinserted? They are required to do so per the FCRA. If not, I suggest a letter to each telling them they are in violation and you want it immediately removed. No reinsertion letter......is there a form letter I can send, or do I just freestyle? Never mind, I combed thru the sample letter section (duh!) and I think I found what I need. Time to put on my big girl panties and get busy! Thanks so much. Words can't express how much I appreciate all the valuable information I find on creditboards.com.
