  1. I would swear that's what I filled out. I will try again. Thanks!
  2. What gives with that? I thought I was supposed to get the whole damn thing? The CLUE, the Risk View....the whole complete file. Does anyone know what I did wrong?
  3. Equifax has been reporting a collection for months. Per the brilliance of CB, I was able to pay the OC. This should have been removed a looooong time ago. Many letters and finally an ITS and it has been removed. My util is high this month but it gave me a 16 point jump to 666. That seems about right...Equifax is after all the devil. Hoping when util is down from 30% to $0 next month to see my score pop above 680 again.
  4. I have had an ongoing issue with Equifax regarding the name they have on my file. For simplicity I'm going to list the history 1. From 2006- 2012 I have a credit file that appears to be split. Strong evidence due to the results of different credit apps. 2. Sometime during this period my name begins to show has Ms. XXXXX XXXXX Sr. 3. I have never ever used a suffix. 4. Split file is eventually merged but the suffix "Sr" is attached to my name. 5. This occasionally causes problems when applying for credit because they can't get my file or a random fraud alert gets attached. 6. During my mortgage process last year, I request no less than 6 times and provide documentation (DL and utility bill) to verify my name. 7. After 3 hours on the phone, 2 weeks before close, I get a supervisor who corrects it and assures me it won't happen again. 8. 1 month later it happens again (i am sure you are all just shocked by that) 9. I contact equifax who assures me that they will fix it. They don't. 10. I receive a letter in the mail that says they won't correct until I send all of the following documents. - A copy of my birth certificate, - A copy of my DL with my current address - A Current utility bill - A valid copy of my social security card - A mortgage statement or bank statement - Lease agreement or house deed -W2 with complete US social security number - Pay Stub with valid social security number I have two problems with this: Sending all of this seems like overkill and overly intrusive. Am I wrong? and I'm a 1099 contractor. I haven't had a paystub or W2 in 5 years. I can't even send them that stuff. What would you do CB experts?
  5. Yes... I recently went hoop jumping with chase. It is possible that you answered verification questions wrong. UW was very helpful too me. I ended up verifying my identity a couple of times before they finally approved.
  6. Had to go through one more hoop. Fraud prevention department. Spoke with a lady today. She verified my identity and I am approved. $2000 CL. Not great but its a start.
  7. My experience IIB was very different. I called them and said 'hey i'd like to make things right'. They gave me two choices: settle for about 50% of the original amount and make payments on that. It would have been reported as PIF but settled for less than the whole amount. I could afford it so I PIF the original amount. They still won't give me an unsecured credit card but I got a nice car loan and a good offer on mortgage.
  8. I made payments with them. Please note that I agreed to pay the full balance. If you pay off a negotiated partial settlement they won't do business with you and it will report that way on your credit.
  9. Set up payments. I paid off a charge off/IIB and I'm very glad I did .
  10. Yes, I used a variation of the sample letter for paid collections. In last weeks letter (which I know they've received via CMRRR) I did threaten to sue. And I will if necessary. Is this something that would be suited for CFPB?
  11. I had a utility bill that went to collections when I moved in 2011. I paid the OC last October. Sent the CA a letter and disputed with EQ. A couple of letters and another dispute later this came off my report (thankfully during the mortgage process). It popped back on my EQ report last month. I disputed EQ verified. I've also sent 2 letters to the CA demanding removal since they have no lawful reason to be reporting. No response from CA and EQ has verfied it. Any thoughts on where to go from here?
  12. Closed on my house at the end of January. Mortgage just posted this week. No change in score at all. Not a single point. WEIRD. Guess its better than a big drop! I was hoping for a little bump now that I have a real estate account back on my file. The pursuit for 700 goes on....
  13. Lowes won't give me a card to save my life. I got code 25 from home depot a couple of weeks ago and was approved for an initial CL of $500....woopee. Called back got 2500. not epic but bigger than any other recon I've had. Scores in 650 -680 range depending on the day.
  14. I started on CB to take care of some issues on my DH credit report so we could buy a house. I had filed BK and also had few but smaller things that needed dealt with. I thought I had done OK rebuilding post BK until I came here. When I started last year I had: Cap1 unsecured $500 Cap1 secured $1000 Secured CU $3000 Auto loan $12,000 Today: Home Depot Visa - approved store card $500 reconned to Visa $2500. Barclay William Sonoma MC- Approved $1000 no luv on recon b/c they were IIB Chase - approved but underwriter couldn't tell me how much -- IIB so I'm happy they are letting me back in the door! CU card unsecured CU line of credit $20,000 Amazon - $1000 Walmart - $1000 Macy's $800 Overstock $5000 Mortgage Hoping for the Virgin America Visa -- pending but hopeful since comenity loved me for $5K at overstock I had no idea that recon could get me from $500 - $2500 with one call. Heck I had no idea that was even possible. My scores aren't great yet but now I feel like I've got something to work with to get them there.
  15. I feel a little dirty. This is the first time I've used a creditor this way. I feel like I'm having my way with a big limit and leaving $20 on the dresser and never calling again. I kinda like it.
