  1. I don't want to deal with issues if any more fraud comes up. I'm guessing it could take years for some of them to close. I'd like to just be rid of them. Utilization is pretty good. I'd essentially be going from $120K is availability to about 60K. I'm also guessing that those card will grow over the next 2 years tho.
  2. The utilization is ok. I don't plan on needing credit for about 2 years when we move and will get a new mortgage. Best to close now or wait? Best to close 1 at a time or all at once?
  3. I recently had a scare with one of my cards. I had signed up for the card as a one category only card- as the cash back for that area was great. I've rarely used the card and realized I don't like chasing promotions. The final straw was a fraud issue that took 2 hours - were I was passed along to customer service rep after rep (all outside of the U.S. so there was some communication issues)- and I was left asking why I have this card. After this incident I realized I don't need so many cards ( I think I have 15 total). There's only 3 I can tolerate at this time (Amex, USAA, and Fido) to get CS help. I feel the cost outweighs the benefits on these other 10+ cards. What's the best way to close all the others without having my score head straight for the basement?
  4. Has anyone ever had any luck getting limits combined? I'm a full member if that matters.
  5. You can't request a CLI on either card for 6 months?
  6. I've got 2 credit cards, and one charge card from Amex. One of my cards has a 10,500 limit and the other 5K. I recently got the $5K card and that is my daily card now. We put everything on our card and pay it off at the end of the month. However, buying furniture or other large purchases would max it out. Has anyone had any luck asking them to combine limits?
  7. Has anyone recently app'ed for this card? Curious about the average scores, and whether or not they take into account how much you have invested with them.
  8. I did ask about an immediate CLI. They mentioned it would be another HP. Which I really have no interest in. I don't ever see myself even using the card, so hard to justify 2 hard pulled. I really wish i had never app'ed.....
  9. I'll never use it....
  10. 3k. Yes, this is my first product with them. All my other limits are in the 10-30K range. Additionally, this card has a fee attached to it. Which I would have been ok with, but I'd have to churn way too much to reach the spend limit and I'm really happy carrying a card without a limit and a Fidelity instead.
  11. I recently applied for 3 cards. 2 of them were my dream cards (Amex Plat and Fidelity rewards), and 1 had a really good points offer(Citi). I got acceptances for all 3. My 2 dream cards came in with good limits, and the 3rd i opened for the offer was my lowest limit yet. Quite frankly, I will most likely never app for another card again unless something amazing is released. However, I will be getting a new mortgage as we plan sell/buy a new home. My time frame is 1 year on that. The card with the low limit , Citi, has an annual fee that will kick in next year. If I never activate the card will it just fall off, as if I never opened the account? I'm not sure how to handle this unwanted card. I'd have to churn through payments, and payoffs to get to the spend easily without influencing my life. Will canceling affect the aging on my account? I lost quite a few points due to 3 brand new accounts.
  12. I'm curious if they'd waive the AF eventually, or even up front for an established member.
  13. Did you have any luck in them waiving the AF? That's the only thing stopping me from app'ing the Platinum
  14. Which cards offer concierge service? Any difference between the concierge service of the different issuers?
  15. After having been app-free for quite awhile I'm finally getting the itch. But not sure where to scratch it. What's the best card out there for the average spender? (I can't hit Amex Black Card spending levels ) Details: Good credit- ~750 Fico -I don't travel much so hotel or airline points don't mean much to me -I do value things liek exclusive access to events, concierge service, or opportunities for once in a lifetime events with points -Current card lineup, Fidelity Visa, Discover IT, Amex Blue, and a couple other assorted cards What would you target next? Amex Platinum?
