  1. Ok, so here's the deal. I was an entrepreneur and things went terribly wrong causing me to default on creditors and overdraft my checking account with BOA. I'm sure I'm on Chexsystems and EWS. Now I want to open a business checking account and start over with a new business so I can hopefully pay back all the money I owe. I have a sole proprietorship and I'm only using paypal at the moment, and then transferring the money from paypal to a family member's bank account. Paypal is great for taking electronic payments under a sole proprietorship. For checks made out to my sole proprietorship I simply cash them at check cashing places for ridiculously high percentage fees. Anyway, back to my question. I am in Houston, TX and I want to open a business checking account so I don't have to deal with all these headaches. I want to incorporate and form an LLC in Texas, but before I create this LLC I want to know if it will help me open a business checking account. I guess my concern is that I will file the LLC as a single member LLC with me as the only member, and then I will go to the bank and they will run me through chexsystems and EWS and deny me. I have read that banks only run the LLCs EIN Tax Id through chexsystems, but I have also read elsewhere that the signers are run through chexsystems and EWS as well. Also if I were to pick a friend as a signer who is clean, wouldn't that look weird to the banks? Also, if you live in Houston, TX could you recommend a bank or credit union?
