Hoping someone can give me some advice. I have a few credit cards and want to pay them off, but was hoping that they would settle with me for a lower amount for pay off. I called Wells fargo financial and citi but they both said they have no programs like that. I am in good standing with all of these. Will they not settle with me because I am not late? Is there any way to go about this? I just want to pay them off but a lesser amount if at all possible. Any ideas? Thank you!!

Hello, Anyone have any experience with renegotiating their apr with Wells Fargo financial? I just received a letter stating that my apr will be increased to 30% unless I opt out. Not sure what to do. I called requesting that they "work with me" and reduce my apr, but i was told no. They basically told me unless im in default, they wont do anything. I told them thats what Im trying to avoid. Any tips on how I can get them to do this or should i just close this card?? Thanks for your help!

Hello, I will be starting a Nursing program at a Junior College in August, and have a few questions on obtaining a student loan. When should i apply for the loan? I spoke with someone at the school and she said that they do not start loan apps until August and thats when I start school. I believe she may be referring to the gov't loans. I already have a Bachelors degree, and the nursing program I will being going into will be for an AA degree. I am not going to be a grad student, so what am I considered on paperwork? I will work part time, but I have a lot of credit card debt, and a mortgage that I will need help covering - which is why is mainly why i will need the loans. I am pretty sure I will end up having to getting a private loan, but I only want to take out as little as possible, because next year my income will show as much less, since I will not have worked full time in the past year and hopefully this will help me get more gov't loans for my last year in nursing. my credit score is mid to lower 600's and I do not have a co-signer. Any advice would be helpful!! Thank you!

Hi thanks for your reply! I actually just finished the FAFSA today. I did not know that FAFSA does not consider credit scores, but they only pay for the school expenses not living right? And you are right about working while in school, I am already looking. Thanks again

Hello, I am kinda of looking for help in regards to getting a student loan. I was just accepted to a 2 year nursing program at a junior college. The program is full time so it would be too hard to work full time with the school schedule so i will need assistance paying for mainly living expenses as its a JC and the fees for the school are not all that much. I have a lot of Credit card debt..about 15k - do I have a chance at getting a loan without a co-signer? I have a mid 600 credit score and own a condo. What are my chances at getting a loan to pay my living expenses? Also could I consolidate my cc debt in the loan or would that not even be a good idea? Any tips or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello, I have a question in regards to a charge off I have on my credit. I know charge offs fall off in 7 years, but I am confused of when that time line starts I have a charge off from verizon and the following are details from my report: Date opened: 9/2003 reported since: 07/2004 date of status: 09/2006 Last reported: 09/2006 These different dates are confusing. This was charged off in 04, not sure what the 2006 dates mean. When should I expect to see this drop? I have already disputed and they verified in 2005. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you!

I disputed 6 - i think. And 3 were deleted!!! yay!! but this was only on Equifax. Two cap one's did not get deleted--one of which was very recent and i really wanted off. It is a 30 day late for $11 dollar balance that i ended up paying like $70 for when i realized i had totally forgotten. this was in August 07. I am going to now dispute with Experian and Transunion - but im kinda scared that they may not delete what i had deleted in my Equifax. But i will try! Will it be okay for me to go ahead and dispute Experian and TRansunion or should i wait a while on these also? Thank you!

Has anyone had any luck getting a neg mark removed from Cap One? I had totally over looked paying an $11 dollar bill to pay off my cap one card (so stupid of me!!) and they hit my credit report with a 30 day late which made my score fall hard! I called them with no luck at all. The guy on the phone said he could put in a letter of dispute for me..but nothing. any ideas?? Thanks!
