  1. Wanted to give an update to this thread.... I let the $6 report on my HSBC card with also talking to customer service and having them report the missing months. My score went from a 636 to a 675!!! We close next Thursday and because of that major hike in score we moved up a level on our loan which gave us a lower interest rate. Thank you CB'ers...without you I wouldn't be getting ready to own my dream home next week. You have all made a huge difference!! ~beer
  2. Will do. I will pay off the cap one then right away and leave the balance ($6.83) on HSBC. Here's another question though.....I noticed another difference in my report since the one pulled in April by the broker....HSBC was not reporting in May or June as I had 0 utilization. Is it possible that that alone could have dropped my score? If they update that info could it bump me up? Thanks again everyone...your help has been invaluable. Way more informative than what the broker knows. I think it's somewhat humorous that what she's telling me is completely wrong. Here's fingers crossed that little balance will give me those four points.....
  3. Thanks all...I went ahead and charged $10 on one card and $5 on the other to show activity and less than 10% utilization. I will keep you updates as to if that gets me enough points.... ~beer
  4. I have 11 inq's on TU, 4 on EX mostly mortgage and Cap one from two years ago, and 4 on EQ 3 mortgage and the HSBC inq for my card in Feb.
  5. All of my credit card balances are zero. So my utilization is zero. Should I charge something and let a balance report? How much? The cap one limit is $250 and HSBC is $300. Should I do the CLI??? I will take and inq hit, but at least I won't take a new acct hit. I don't think I have any other AU options. My mom only has that one card with a $20,000 limit with good pay history which is why I wanted to get on as an AU, but they state they cannot put her credit history on my credit. Hmmmm I just don't think those CSR's know what they are talking about.
  6. Okay, so with the help of everyone here on credit boards I was able to get my middle score into the low 640's. That happened back in April. Anyway, hubby and I applied for pre-approval for home loan. We applied for an FHA loan that would use our credit score from April. It could be used for up to 120 days, Anyway our closing on our house is August 16th which seems like alot of time, but really it feels quite short at the moment. So hubby and I went into Mortgage broker to start our official loan paperwork. At that appt our broker informed us that the FHA guidelines had changed and they can only use the score for 90 days. She had to pull our credit again and for some unknown strange reason my middle score dropped to a 636 which puts me 4 points under where I need to be. The broker looked at my report and could find no changes to the report whatsoever to justify a 7pt drop. So, we are 45 days from closing and I need 4 points fast. What is my best course of action. I don't want to risk a pull by opening new credit on that middle bureau which is Experian. Do I go with my husband who has good scores and open a joint major card that say only pulls EQ or TU but I have to wait weeks to get the card before I can activate and use to be able to report to the bureaus at that point or maybe a store card somewhere who again pulls EQ or TU but opens instantly and will hopefully report sooner? I have a Cap one secured card for 18months and a Household bank card since February. I thought about a CLI, but I'm afraid they would pull on EXP now that they are owned by Cap One for a measley $200 increase that I'm not sure would translate to a big enough score increase to justify the pull. I also tried to be put as an AU on hubbys HSBC Best Buy card and mom's credit union major card, but both say they cannot report their credit to my report. Uggghhh.....I really don't want to lose this house for a measley 4 points. It's a foreclosure at such a good deal that we have already invested the money for an appraisal, inspection etc, Please help me CBers.... Thanks in advance ~beer
  7. Thanks. I guess I'm just worried because I got the initial response from the BBB saying they received my complaint and that Eastern MI BBB would be handling it. But I never got anything from Eastern MI BBB. With LVNV SC BBB responded to me right away. I'm just hoping my complaint didn't get lost somewhere. Ahhhh the things we do for clean reports. Glad to hear people had success though. I'm surprised LVNV was that easy for me. I followed everything to the letter with them though. I sent out two DV's with no response and kept my green cards as evidence. They came back within the week stating they would delete. Now with that said they stated they wouldn't delete for 30-45 days so please be patient, and they still haven't deleted, but it's only been 14 days. Doesn't matter as my mortgage banker is taking the letter from the BBB as evidence it will be removed. Good luck on LVNV. Just be persistent. They will fold eventually.
  8. Just out of curiosity...I know some people here have used the BBB to get AA deleted from their CRA's, how long did it take to get a response. I used BBB to delete LVNV and it only took about a week. However I received a response from the SC BBB the same day I filed saying they were forwarding it on to the business. I have yet to hear anything from the Eastern MI BBB in response to my complaint stating they received it and were sending it on to AA. Is this the norm for MI BBB and SC was just on the ball or should I be worried that it never got sent to the MI BBB? Any thoughts or experiences on this would be great. beer P.S. Desperately trying to get rid of AA for a mortgage loan. On somewhat of a tight schedule and the amount in contention is relatively small at $400. Was hoping AA would just roll over for that small of an amount. I did DV them and they sent their bogus validation letter with my name and last four digits of my SS#. Definitely not validation in my mind. Also tried disputing with CRA's and always comes back verified....uggghhh!
  9. Thanks everyone. This would never have happened without all of the wonderful knowledge sharing here on CB. I'm going to spread the word....you don't have to settle for your credit score. You can make things happen!!! I do believe I see a mortgage in my future.
  10. Just wanted to give a big shout out to everyone on CB. My last major biggie LVNV has bit the dust. I may not have always posted, but I read almost everything on here!!(Hopefully my boss doesn't find out as most of it was at work!) Anyway here is my response from the SC BBB...just had to share! 11. So when I started this process months ago TU was my lowest score at 498 (lender pull). Unfortunately I live in WI and it seems everyone here pulls TU. Since January I have had numerous deletions, good payment history and utilization on all of my positive accounts. I still have one PR, stupid LVNV funding, Asset Acceptance, Afni, two CO's and two paid collections. EX was a 529 FAKO when I started now at a 650 FAKO. EQ was a 555 my fico now a 615 my fico, yet TU is being stubborn. As of right now a 540 my fico. There are accounts that I have received letters from the OC stating they are deleting and EX and EQ both deleted but two weeks later I am still waiting on TU. Has anyone else had this problem with them???? Even with disputes they have always taken the longest then verify when the other two delete!!! As much as I am grateful that EX and EQ are starting to climb, TU is the more important one to me as all the local CU's and banks around here use TU. When will I see the light at the end of the tunnel with this CRA from hell.... beer
  12. I'm hoping that by sending the letter, getting that "golden" green card back and then waiting two weeks will give me more leverage with the AG and BBB. I think they need to see that I did my part, but they have not done theirs. These salamanders need to come off my report as they seem to be doing maximum damage with the "recent collection" crap. Plus they just keep bumping up the amount of money I owe. On top of it I noticed they went from an open account to a closed account back to an open account again on my TU report. Uggghhhh....just go away and stay away already. I will do whatever I have to do to make sure this is done the right way so they don't come back. beer
