OK, Let's start from scratch as what you have done is rather a hodgepodge. You have opted out?? http://www.whychat.5...OPTOUTINST.HTML You have deleted old addresses?? Send the initial dispute letter to Ex. Follow ALL the directions as they are designed to bypass the automated systems. http://www.whychat.5.../hipaadisp.html I am not sure exactly WHAT "DV" you sent to the reporting CA, however without having FIRST disputed with the initial medical dispute letter it was likely not valid. IF Ex again refuses to delete, you can then send the medical DV to the reporting CA http://www.whychat.5...cavalhipaa.html Please do NOT call, fax, e-mail or send anything by carrier pigeon or semaphore or smoke signals to Experian or the CA. All it does is to interfere and prolong the process. Come back to this post once you have REDONE all the basic steps. Whychat, I just want to come back and give proper thanks for all your work! I followed the steps as you said and finally got all of the collections taken off of my credit report. I would suggest that anyone doing this stay patient and focused because it's not real easy but more than worth the effort. I started looking into this around july of 2011. I didn't find whychat until around oct.-sept. at that point my credit score was at 599. After getting all the collections deleted and making sure inquries that experian "forgot" to delete after 2 years and paying my credit card debit down to less than 30% my credit score is (734) it will go up even more this week when the rest of my CC bills get reported! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! ALL HAIL WHYCHAT!

All collections are on Experian. No I did not send the initial dispute letter. I did an online dispute before learning about the HIPAA process. The only response I received was that it was validated. I called the CRA and asked how they know it's valid and was told they do no need verification or documentation. That is the responsibility of the CA to report accurate information. That's when I started looking for help and came across this process. Retracing my steps: 1. Online dispute 2.Send DV letter for 4 collections to United Revenue Corp. They just send back a letter for only one of the 4 collections for $50. This one mysteriously dropped off without payment even though it was the only one they responded to and said was valid. I also sent a DV letter to Paramount Recovery. The replied with an actual statement that showed what I owed the diagnosis and even the D 3.Exprian Received my dispute letter and copies of the United Revenue Corp DV letters 12/09/2011.<BR style=""> <BR style="">

If you are sure that the reporting CA is a "primary" CA, as seems to be the case, then you can pay the OC ( original creditor health care provider) the $50. with the HIPAA letter insert "a" FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS. http://www.whychat.5u.com/hipltr.html The CA United Revenue Service only replied back to 1 of the 5 accounts I listed in the DV. What do I do about the other 4? Also, are the CA's obligated to provide proof in writing statin the Dr. or Hospital that the bill is for? Will the CRA (Experian) delete the collects even though the CA and the CRA state it's valide but provide no proof in writing other than the "validated" statement on my online dispute? Were their records accurate?? Did they match your EOMBs ( explanation of medical benefits) from your insurance?? What was the response from the CRAs to your initial dispute letters?? What was their response to the follow up dispute?? http://www.whychat.5...aa.html#DISPUTE To answer your other question about the CRA disputer letters I disputed online before knowing of the whychat HIPAA process. It just said valid without an explanation on the Experian website. Yes, the records where accurate I had talked to the OC before knowing of this process. The OC gave me their account numbers and what I owed which matches what shows on my credit report. The intersting thing is as I was about to send the follow up dispute letter I noticed that the account for the $50 had been deleted. There are 4 others remaining but, those are the ones that the CA never responded to in the DV letter. I sent all the letters in the same envelope CMRR but they only replied to one of them. I do have a question as I have a medical savings account that I need to use $300 of before the end of this year. Could I pay using this or must it be in the form of a money order or cashiers check? Thank you for your response! How do you get funds from the medical savings account?? By check?? If it is NOT a "personal" account and you can put the restrictive endorsement on it, then it would be OK. Just found out I cant use the medical savings account do to the dates of service not being this year. Should I go ahead and pay the 4 other accounts even though the CA has yet to respond to the DV on those or should I send the http://www.whychat.5...aa.html#DISPUTE and wait hoping it will get deleted without a reply from the DV letter? The totals are over $600 and if there is a chance that the CA not responding to my DV letter within 30 (received Nov.18) makes the CRA delete the collection I'll wait. If the CA not replying in 30 days does not force the CRA to delete the collections I'll go ahead and pay. Thank you for all you have done so far! Pay ONLY the one that was verified. Do the disputes on anything else that is reporting. Update: The only account that United Revenue Corp verified has been deleted. I did not pay anything on this account to the OC or anyone. I don't understand how it just got deleted without any payment. The other four with them (United Revenue Corp) are still being reported. I did send the redispute to the CRA (Experian). I have payed the OC on another account that was verified from Paramount Recovery System. What do I do now? Do I send proof of payment to the CRA on the payed account? By the way thank you for all your advice and hard work!!!

Ok I sent the DV letters (5) to the CA CMRR they received it on Nov.18 and responded Nov. 18th stating it was valid listing my name and Balance Due:$50. My initial dispute was online before I knew about the HIPAA process. I have opted out and disputed prior addresses. The response from the CA does give the original account No.941101 which matches the account number from my OC which I had called before starting this process. They have only responded to one of the accounts. Someone please help. The letter states: Dear X Smith: Please accept this letter as a written confirmation that: 1. This office initiated and investigation regarding the accuracy of our credit report on the account described above. 2. No inaccuracies were identified as a result of the investigation. This account represents the Emergency Department Physician fees for service provided in the emergency room on June 4. 2008. The patient was X Smith. If you have a specific dispute, we will immediately reopen the investigation; otherwise, we are confirming our initial report as accurate. This communication is from a debt collector attempting to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. Sincerely, United Revenue Corporation

WhyChat: If I have disputed my medical bills online through the CRA and they state it is "valid" can I still use the Pre-HIPAA letter? I have called the original creditor (before finding this site) and they said they could not accept payment from me and I would have to pay the CA. At the point I started looking for advice and came across your site. I received my results Sept. 14th from the CRA and wanted to know what will be my next plan of action. I've already Opt-out and had the old addresses disputed. I just don't know what to do at this point being that the OC said they can’t take payment from me since "selling" the account to the CA. I had to call them over and over to I've read over the process over and over and think I understand it but, would rather have advice from the expert! I need to speed up the process as I need to buy a car. Not sure how long the one I have will last! Please advise with the steps needed.
