So I cleaned up my credit as much as possible. I have two car notes both current never late for a year on one and 4 months on the other one, and a Conns account over a year that is perfect. I have two questions. I have a debt of about $500.00 for an old bank account thta is showing as a charge off, I tried PFD, calling them etc. they said that if I paid they still won't delete, should I pay anyways. It does not fall off until late 2013. Secondly, I pulled the trigger and applied for Capital One and was approved for a small limit of $300.00. How do I use this card to best rebuild and increase my credit score? Thanks for any input. This board works if you pay attention and do the work that is required, and I could'nt have done it without yall.

I have a charged off acount from a a bank account that went south in June 2007. It is still with the original creditor, bank. I tried to DV, no reply, they are the original creditor after all. I then tried calling them and doing a PFD no go, they said the debt had been sold this month to Phoenix Recovery Group. I called them, they don't have the debt yet. Should I just pay this and have it reflected in my credit report as a paid charge off? When I got to myfico fico score simulator it says if I pay off I will have a 20+ point increase. Or so I wait for Phoenix to get it then DV? Any input is appreciated.

At the time I bought the car, I had no choice but Credit Acceptance. I also have a completely paid off, one time past 30, 5 year loan with car financial. could this help........

So I had a Total Card from 10 years ago with $2200.00 owing on it. My life went to hell and I never paid it. Collection calls stopped then started when I started cleaning up my credit file and pulled my collective head out of the sand. Now the debt is about $9k, but way past statues in the fine state of Texas so I told them to go pound sand. Today, I pull my credit which has gone up over 100 points since the clean up began in November thanks to yall on this board and lo and behold there is a revolving account from Mid America Bank and Trust for $496.00. It is also showing up in the charge off section of my report. I called them and they referred me to Total Card. Huh? I called Total Card and they referred me to Crown Fundung. I called Crown Funding and they told me all they have is my name and that it is a total card debt that they purchsed two weeks ago, but the "data" has not been uploaded. I know the amount of $496.00 matched a chraged off Plains Commerce Visa that I finaly got off all three reports through many, many letters etc. What do I do now? Dispute with the named person (Mid-America Bank and Trust) who is on my credit report? Start suing people? I am furious. Any input would be much appreciated.

Yes, I am sending both payments on Monday. I just wonder if they just run the check again and don't report as 30 days late? I am half afraid to raise the issue with a CSR if it may slip under the readar........

So I paid my car payment late but not past 30 days. It was due on the 12th of March and I paid it on the 10th of April. Well lo and behold I did a check by phone and a check written to me was returned on my account so they NSF my car payment. Will it show as past 30 days on credit report? And if so, how much of a hit will I take? I can't make the payment good until Monday the 16th. I am just sick, sick, sick.... I have been working on my credit since Nov 2010 and have a 103 point increase thanks to yall on this board, this just sets me back.

I have tried and tried and tried to get this scum off of my credit report to no avail. LVNV went away then came back on Experian with a Houston address. I sent out a Texas DV to P.O. Box 740281 Houston Texas and it came back as return to sender, not deliverable as addresses, unable to forward. This is the address listed on my Experian credit report..... now what? Do I copy the envelope and contents and send to Experian? Do I file a complaint with the AG? Really need some input. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I guess I misunderstood that my score would go down because of the crazy FICO model, becasue the judments date back to 2006? I am not upside down on my car according to NADA, so would this idea of a secured loan and credit card give me two positive tradelines? Thus rebuilding?
