  1. My CC was in pending status for three days and this morning it shows approved. I went through all the links, including the last link to print and sign a signature card, which I have to mail back. As of now, only my savings account shows. Will it not show up until they receive my signature card? Also, what's the scoop regarding dong a recon of my initial CL. Will they use the same hard inq? Do people have success with that?
  2. Me and my spouse are both on the $6 plan, I called to cancel since its been 11 months and they said the system will not allow the promo rate to renew, so I am letting them both cancel. Cant justify $25 a month at this point. We don't need daily pulls, just maybe once a month, but more importantly I need daily alerts of any changes to our report. What are my options? Any credit cards offer this for free? I have credit sesame but found it to be unreliable when it comes to the monitoring service. I have Discover and Amex cards, along with the usual visa and MC's
  3. Big question is... HARD or SOFT Inq.?
  4. Just transferred over $26k from 5 different cards. Will save around $200 a month in interest for the next 12 months, plus I will end up paying even more since I will be forced to pay the 2% minimum, while some of my other cards were at 1% and I was only paying that minimum.
  5. I have been stuck at $5k for my paypal smart connect, everytime I tri a CLI they send me a letter saying I am at the max they allow.
  6. Do you qualify to join Navy Federal Credit Union? if you do, they have a 0% 12 months balance transfer offer with no BT fee. If you could get a $10-$15k CL with them you can move everything over and pay off half your debt during those 12 months with $500 a month and save tons in interest. After 12 months, depending on the APR they have given you , it may makes sense to just keep it on that card
  7. I know there are posts about this, just sharing my experience. my $95 AF is coming up on my Citi AA MC. I called and said I was thinking about closing my card. Got transferred to retention. I explained I just dont use the card to justify the fee. He put me on hold and came back with an offer. Spend $1000 in the next three months and I will get a $95 credit. I said sorry, I cant do that. He put me back on hold and came back with offer 2 - make any round trip flight on american and get a $95 credit. Sorry, cant do that. Put me back on hold and came back with the "great news" - he can waive the $ requirement and give me a $95 statement credit if I make any 5 purchases on the card in the next 3 months, as low as $1. I accepted and its done. Worth being persistent!
  8. Every car company has different rules about lease transfers. I did one with a Honda. A friend had 12 months left on a 36 months accord lease. I filled out a credit application, was approved and it was transferred into my name. The nice thing is that when it started reporting, it reported the previous 24 months of payment history, so I got a very nice bump from that tradeline. Obviously, if he had any late payments, that would have been reported too, so make sure to confirm a clean payment history before asking for a transfer.
  9. I have a $300 doctor bill from 7/2012, I was applying for various financial aid but recently got denied. I called this morning to setup a payment plan and they told me it was "just sent to a collection agency on friday" and they can not pull it back, etc. Since this is so new, what should my attack plan be? I obviously have no letter from the collection agency, its not on my report yet, but I really want to nip it in the bud. Should I follow whychats method, or is there something different I should do given how fresh this is?
  10. Any chance this method can be used for B*?
  11. Well, in preparing for consolidating all my cc to navy. Req CLI on my Visa, got an offer for $24k>25k and on my plat $15k>17k - I accepted, dont need any hards. Pretty meager CLI from what I have seen in the past.
  12. I know you paid a fee to chase, but you can still BT to NAVY to extend the 0% for 12 months, no? Where's Road2Freedom? I haven't seen him around for awhile... Back from a long hiatus... Good to see the offers aren't dead and I hope some people can take advantage! Unfortunately it was about 6 months too late and I ended up having my better half open a *gasp* Chase Slate card to carry the balance to payoff. So lesson learned... we can likely count on January for 0% offers (though never guaranteed) and mid year offers seem to be hit or miss at best. Cheers!
  13. Keep in mind , with a new CC, i think there is a 7-10 day waiting period for a BT to go through..., due to the new CC laws, something about "buyers remorse" and giving you 2 weeks to cancel a new card... someone chime in here?
  14. Are you confirming that a pre-approval for a CC would mean no hard inq if I accept it? That's what my offers looked like... Was hoping for CLI increase on my Rewards cards seeing how PenFed is now my next to lowest card after my CLI spree this past week on my other lines... I already have 50k total credit card limits and a 25k LOC. Just curious, I wonder if PenFed does preapprovals for home loans too. That would be so sweet -- a mortgage w/o a hard inquiry.
  15. can you share what "tips' you used to request this CLI?
