Hello All! I have an account with a CA. The OC is HSBC and the DOFD is 9/2006. So I believe it should fall off some time this August or September. Do you think it is worth it to dispute on all 3 as obsolete? Thanks, Omnicef

I did not give them any new info. My dv letter did not include any cease and desist. I was under the impression they could not continue collection activities until they validated the debt. I did include a copy of the original dunning letter with my dv letter, so the excuse that they could not locate me is ridiculous.

A little more info: They have attempted to call me 5 times after receiving my DV letter. Tue Nov 27, 2012 at 10:44 AM PST Mon Nov 26, 2012 at 8:07 PM PST Sat Nov 24, 2012 at 10:40 AM PST Fri Nov 23, 2012 at 10:25 AM PST Wed Nov 21, 2012 at 10:58 AM PST Any thoughts?

So... Fast forward to today. Allied received the DV letter on 11-20-2012. I received a letter from Allied with the following verbiage: To Whom it may concern: We are unable to lacate your account. Please provide the following information: Acct Holder Name Acct Holder Address Acct Holder Phone # Allied Interstate Acct # Creditor Name Creditor Acct # I am not sure what to do with this at this point. Allied has not reported to the CRAs yet, however LVNV has, using my parents address. Also, how do I go about getting the OC off as well? Thanks Guys!

I received a dunning letter at my parents house. Should I send my DV letter with my current address on it or my parents address? Thanks!

I purchased a car with a CC back in 1997. (I was paying cash, but earned some points by using the CC and PIF the following week.) It was about 10k.

I am attempting to purchase a car and have a slight problem with the paperwork. My father is co-signing and we do not want him on the registration. He is concerned about liability in the event of an accident. We had a used dealer do this about 10 years ago for us, but are having no luck getting it done today. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this happen? We want him on the loan, but not on the registration / title. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your replies. Road2freedom, thank you for your concern about straining the relationship. My father cosigned for me 10+ years ago (before my divorce that tanked my credit) and it worked out well. I am confident that we will not have issues. MarvBear, I have been using an online payment calculator and putting in 10% for interest. Can I assume a lower rate for my estimating purposes? Maybe 5%?

I think I know the answer to this... but I am asking anyway. I have a terrible score about 500. I had a repo in early 2008 and finished a 2nd auto loan in early 2011. My father is willing to cosign for a car, his score is 810. I know I can get approved, the real question is, with such a high cosigner, can I get the 0.9% type loans? Thanks in advance!

I got this report via annualcreditreport.com... Are you saying I should request one in writing and that it might be different?

On my Equifax report, It shows an account listed by MCM with the following: Date Opened:12/2008 Â Date Major Delinquency First Reported: 02/2009Â Date of First Delinquency:09/2006Â Type of Loan:Factoring Company Account (debt buyer)Â From the best that I can tell, this is an old credit card debt that at a bare minimum is 5 years old but I believe it is about 7 -8 years old. What date is equifax using to calculate the reporting SOL? Thanks!

Not very long... I applied on 5/31/10 and I received the card yesterday (6/9/10).

I may have convinced my Mom to add me as an authorized user on her Discover Account. She has had the card for longer than I can remember. I am pretty sure the age of the account is close to my age (30). Will having an account with 25 - 30 years of history (all perfect) raise any red flags since my age is approximately the same? Is Discover a bad choice to do this with? I want to make sure that it isn't a card that does report AND does show the Limit. I want to get the advantage of age and utilization. Also, if she does add me, she will not give me the actual card... is that okay if it does not get used? Thanks!

I have been an authorized user on a company card since the beginning of 2009. The credit card is issued through Wells Fargo Bank. The payment history of this card is excellent with a high limit and low constant utilization. I know it would really help my score if it was reporting... but it isn't. Any advice to get it reported?
