  1. My new mortgage that I got 3 months ago is finally reporting. Oddly the acct shows but no payment history. My FICO was 800 and since the new mortgage acct reported it dropped to 740. No other changes to CR. This seems rediculous how did I lose 60 pts and when will it come back?
  2. In June '17 I bought a new house using the home builders lender. After 1 month they sold the mortgage to Bank of America. My CR shows the one month I was with the home builders' mortgage company. It shows balance "0" status "transfered". However, BofA has never reported the mortgage to any 3 CRA. Is this odd or normal? 4 months of a mortgage and it doesn't report?
  3. I checked my FICO score directly with the 3 CRAs thru their own web sites. I got FICOs of 820,830,830. I had my credit pulled today for a car loan and they told me my mid-store was 793. I know banks see a lower score than consumers. Today I signed up for Capital One bank's "Credit Wise" free service. I'm a cardholder and it's free. My FICO score shows as 793. How is Cap One bank, a third party, more accurate than the CRAs own web sites?
  4. I've been consulting with my sister, who has terrible credit. I know she will never buy a house but what are her chances of buying a new or used car or getting a credit card. Credit report shows as follows: Ch 7 BK - 2003 Ch 7 BK - 2012 3 small claims court civil judgments ($3k-$5k each) in past 5 years 5 utility company liens for unpaid electric bill 2013 - forced eviction for non-payment of rent 2014 - forced eviction for non-payment of rent It's not 2017 do you think enough time has gone by that she can get any kind of auto loan?
  5. I won a small claims case against a friend I loaned $7,000 that he never paid back. I'm currently garnishing his wages. How can I make sure the judgment appears on his credit report? Do I have to record it with the county or will it automatically show up? I don't have his SS# just name and address. Do I have to file the judgment somewhere like the county recorder or something?
  6. During the financial crisis I let 2 houses go into foreclosure. Effect on my FICO wasn't really that bad after 1 year I was at 680. As of last month my FICOS were in the low 700s. Well this month marked the 7 years since the foreclosures. The "time since last late payment" now says "NEVER" and guess what... my FICOs shot up to 800-810. I assumed foreclosure would kill a FICO but it really didn't have that much of a devastating effect, maybe because all my other accts were in good standing.
  7. If you get sued in small claims court and lose and get a judgment levied against you, will that show on your CR? Does it affect your FICO? How to the CRA know about it and verify identity? For example SS#s are not put on any civil court papers and if a person moves around an rents a lot their address is always changing. How do the CRA even ID a person just by a name on a civil judgment?
  8. I created an account on Equifax.com and got a copy of my report and score. Credit score is 820 shows "excellent". Is this a real score or a 'fako' score? I never recall it being that high and most of the banks in my state have always used Experian for car and small personal loans never Equifax.
  9. I have an account that has recently been turned over to a CA. When i signed the contract, I used a fake SS# (just made it up). The original creditor never ran my credit so they don't know. When the CA reports this to the CRAs, will it be an easier dispute? They have my name and address, but they do not have a valid SS#. In fact, can they even report it in the first place if the SS# they use does not jive with my real one?
  10. I signed a lease with BofA to lease a cash register system for a retail business. The contract was non-cancellable. Just an FYI, these cash register leases are the big craze right now and they are total scams. The monthly payment over the lease term length would mean I was going to end up paying $10,000 for a computer with a retail value of around $500. I closed the businesses and BofA sent a demand letter for the lease balance. Of course, I flat out refused to pay. Within 1 month they turned it over to a collection agency. Although the lease was in the corporation name, I signed a personal guarantee. I snail mailed the CA a letter seeking debt verification as well as telling them not to call me. The post office shows it delivered/sign for. A few days later I get a call from the CA. I told them I sent a letter asking them not to call. The lady told me that they never got it (even though post office show it delivered) and then informs me that the FDCPA does not apply because this is business debt. She said "It's a business debt, but because of the personal guarantee it will go on your credit as a collection account". So how screwed am I? If FDCPA does not apply is there nothing I can do? I blocked their # from being able to call my home and cell. But I researched this company and they do report to CAs.
  11. I just pulled all 3 of my FICOs directly from Equifax web site. They are Experian 737 Trans Union 717 Equifax 735 Are these considered good scores? Also the TU is much lower - one of the reasons it says for lower score is "short credit history". How can that be? I've had credit for since I was 18 years old that was 26 years ago! It's the only CRA showing that message.
  12. I tried getting a copy of my TU report online via their direct web site. It says "error cannot confirm identity: reason - error". I called them and they were able to check it on the phone just fine. No matter what I do I can't check it on any web site. I get an identity error. Last week I applied for an Amex card. Amex called me. They pull all 3 reports but they told me that when they tried to pull TU they got an "invalid" response from TU. The report does NOT have a security freeze on it. Any idea what could be going on?
  13. Last year me and a friend tried starting a local delivery service. It didn't work out and we closed the company (short story). In any case, we hired a company from Colorado to help with web site promotion. A total rip off to say the least. This "SEO Expert" company did absolutely NOTHING for us. Never even logged into our web site one time to tweak things, which is what we paid them for. We canceled after 3 months (of paying $600/month). I emailed them to cancel and they agreed. I got a call last week from a collection agency on the east coast. A guy with a tough guy NY attitude, pretending to be a lawyer, says we need to send him $7,600 and if we can arrange payments. I'm like WTF??? He goes on to tell me that we owe this internet marketing company this money, which includes late fees, for services performed. Best part is they claim they continued to promote our web site by tweaking the web pages for several MONTHS after the company closed and our web site was taken down. He refused to send me anything in the mail, claiming people say they never got the mail. I suggested he send it certified mail so that doesn't happen. He then emails me an invoice which looked so mickey mouse it was almost laughable. I requested a copy of a signed contract between the two parties and evidence that work was completed and he ignored that email. Problem is the debtor is a corporation, not an individual, and as such the FDCPA does not apply. I checked out this collection agency's web site and they actually refer to their tactics as "intolerable on the debtor". Is there anything I can do at this point since FDCPA does not apply? How the heck can a company just make up fees and then hire a collection agency? What worries me is that the CA's web site says they sue everyone who doesn't pay using a network of local lawyers. Again no written contact exists.
  14. I went car shopping and several dealers submitted my credit app to various banks. Eight (that's 8) banks including BofA, Wells Fargo, Chase, Ally, Citibank gave me DENIALS for my car loan. The letters I got showed a fico of 716 but the reason for the denial "too many credit inquiries in last 12 months". I've had a total of 5 hard hits in the past 12 months. One for my new mortgage, one for a credit card that I got, one for a car rental, and two others for water and electric service when I moved into my new house. This is absolutely rediculous. How the heck can you be declined for 5 inquiries in 12 months only 2 of which were for credit and with a fico of 716!?!??! Best part is my last 2 car loans paid as agreed were with Ally!!!!
  15. I had 2 foreclosures each property had 2 mortgages. So I have 4 defaulted mortgages on my CR. I am at the 5 year mark from initial default month, as of this month. When should start carpet bomb disputing? Do you think it's too soon? Will the lenders reply after 5 years? If not now how long should I wait?
