Hi Everyone Thanks for all your help in my credit repair journey your advise and help was a God send which assisted me in reaching the high 700 club. I am coming back for help in getting my brother started on the long but eventual positive journey of credit repair. He has an issue I have never dealt with so I am turning to my friends here at CreditBoards in hopes someone here can help. He has several entries for past due child support. Is there anything that can be done with those? Any help/suggestions will be appreciated

Capital 1 filed lawsuit, served wrong person, obtained judgment, executed writ and garnished bank account (approximately $5,000). I was able to get service set aside because of improper service and received all monies they garnished back. Time line: filed : 10/1/08 proof service 10/17/08 default 3/9/09 abstract judgment : 11/18/10 writ of execution : 2/11/13 order set aside service, withdraw writs, quash abstracts : 7/2/13 OSC re: dismissal/entire action dismissed without prejudice : 11/20/13 Attorney for Capital 1 asked for new/updated address but I did not voluntarily provide. To date I have heard nothing from them, a collection agent or the court since dismissal. How long can they pursue and refile (after the do skip trace and locate me in another state for proper service)? Is there some type of statute of limitations? Can anyone provide answer. Thanks

I am trying to help my son restore his credit and things going great - only these only two of three negatives remaining (Crap 1 obtained judgment but served someone at his old apartment 1 year after he had moved out in 2009 - we just found out about judgment when I started working on cleaning up his credit and pulled info from court file - will likely have to retain an attorney to fix that issue). But the traffic ticket I am hoping I can take care of - so here's the info: Sent a debt validation letter to AllianceOne on two collections and they were returned with copies of two traffic tickets (failure to wear seat belt)which he never showed up in court for or paid tickets!!!! Tickets were as follows: Date recieved : 6/8/07 hearing date: 8/17/07 date opened by collection agency : 9/07 principle $54.00 fees $150.00 total due $204.00 Date recieved : 6/9/09 hearing date: 8/20/09 date opened by collection agency: 10/09 principle $140.00 fees $267.00 total due $407.00 My question is: Is there a statute of limitations on how long they can pursue a person in court/file a lawsuit to try and collect? Would paying reset any statute of limitations? For credit debts I know it's 4 years in California but can't find anything on traffic tickets/fines.... I want to try and negotiate a settlement and have them removed the info from his credit reports so any insightful help will be appreciated.

Does anyone know what day/week of the month that experian updates? I have a baddie that falls off in Nov - it is off eq & tu. I have one free pull on ex and don't want to pull until I know for sure it's off.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Mailing signed app tomorrow - oops today - it's 1:30am. Hoping to get in - need EX FICO -- TU & EQ reports clean Few 5 year old negatives EX (can't sem to get them deleted)

It's been a long journey - starting at 540/536 2 years ago!!! FICO today : Me 768 DH 702 who pulls TU

Rock On NFCU !!!! Got approved for MC - with small limit $2K - so overall credit with NFCU is $30,500 - not to shabby considering where I was a year ago. If later in the year I decide (kicking and screaming by DH) to purchase new truck will the amount of credit I have with them affect my chances of getting a auto loan? CB'ers "ROCK" - thanks so much for insight, help and support. I'm going to let these 2 newbies age a couple months - start reporting - probably Oct/Nov then start app spree for 1 or 2 more cards. Which ones should be easy to get - my TU report is my cleanest - albeit my Ex score (fako - cs) is 741

doing the happy dance......NFCU rocks Navchek approved $12K - waiting to hear on creditcard.... I need 2 cards as I want to get rid of a secured card I have. Question when I close secured will it be a huge score hit? It's not my oldest acct - maybe 2002/2003.

okay, with all of the navchek approvals lately - I decided to pull the trigger and do a double dip. Could be a mistake. I went for navchek - requesting $15 and nrewards mc over the phone. I was told no instant approval navchek - going to loan officer mc 3-5 days I was told by rep would be 2 pulls - 2 different credit products & departments I may have been over reaching - already have visa $16,500 My eq if pretty clean - 1 old charge off HSBC 11/03 and 1 30 late - 02/08 new mill & 1 30 late 02/10 - Chase which should not be reporting considering it's an old wamu account I got chase to close with no balance due albeit there was a balance due of over $1K and I did not have to pay the money - they agreed I never agreed to be joint on account. So they zero'd out for both my DS (who's account it was) - I have sent follow-up letter to clear up the 30 day late. I probably should have waited to get that cleared up before applying - just to anxious to apply for credit - last app 6/09. I have no idea what my equifax score is - last time check in 7/09 fico 645 with high debt ratio & with 5 negatives (2 charge-offs & 3 lates 31 - 60 days) It appears I have 5 inquires ( 1 navy 06/09 3 mortgage 6/09 -5/09 - 01/09 1 UMB 7/09) Income over $80K - largest debt mortgage $1500 pymnt - highest credit card balance - nfcu $700.00. Utilization should be well below 5%. I hope I will be doing the happy dance - what do you guys think my chances are? liklihood they will give me the amounts requested. :unsure
