  1. Hi all, We have a small medical collection to deal with and while I have read the WhyChat (thank you) information, I would like to pass my situation in front of you all to make sure I'm on the right track. We had a small ($130) medical collection pop up on our reports from 2008 (NCO)in Oct 2010. While we did not agree with the charge and despite our efforts to remedy this through the insurance company, I'm proceeding as if this is a valid debt. I contacted the OC and they will not accept payment, so my next step, as I understand it, is to send the pre-HIPPA dispute letter and wait. *IF* the information is validated, I would then proceed with the HIPPA letter using "insert A" along with full remittance. Am I following this correctly? Thank you for taking the time to read and or respond. Sincerely, D.Ishmael
  2. Congrats!
  3. We had a similar approval on our second NFCU card. Several days after the initial approval, a CL was posted. Good luck. Ishmael
  4. They pulled EQ for our recent car loan ...
  5. Hey Dude, Thank you! We logged in,checked it out and it indeed shows 27K! This will shrink our current 20% utilization down to almost nothing . Happy Holidays to all, Ishmael
  6. Thank you all, I'm feeling a bit more optimistic It's starting to look like a credit avalanche from our friends at Navy Fed ... Anyway, I'll post to Credit_Pulls as soon as we have CL confirmation. Cheers, Ishmael
  7. * I'll note that after the CC approval, we turned around and did an app for a used car loan of 18K. They came back with an instant approval for up to 21K.
  8. Did that person apply to NFCU? I remember a similar story but I believe that person applied to Nationwide. I don't believe NFCU plays games like that. Thank you both very much for the replies; I'm referring to this entry from the creditpulls db. "nfcu Equifax 638 $17,000 miami FL N/A 2010-11-23 email said 17 000 but when credit card posted to profile said only 3000"
  9. So CB'ers, We had an unexpected NFCU experience yesterday. After joining Navy Fed and being denied a Cash Rewards card a year ago, my wife applied again. EQ Fako has come up ~50 pts (now 651)and her income has also risen a few thousand in the interim to approx 120K. The approval came within 2-4 hours of the app and, get this, noted a CL of $27,500 !!! Of course, having read on CB about a gentleman who recently received a 17,500 approval, only to receive a $3k card, I'm skeptical. What do you guys/gals think? Awesomeness or cruel hoax? TIA, Ishmael
  10. Boeing Employees Credit Union (BECU) also participates in Branch Sharing. HTH Someone Sinc. Ishmael
  11. Simply ridicules ... The deals are definitely out there, and I'm sure someone will be willing to take your money Good Luck, Ishmael
  12. Woot for the personal achievement! Being able to Say "NO" is a necessary addition to the skill set of life. I understand the reticence, my wife HATES making calls to cancel services or ask for any level of help; late pays, overdraft fees etc. I'm trying to convince her that NONE of this is personal, that it's all a game to be won, but we all have our own strengths and weaknesses. So, good for you Joseph, take it to 'em, Ishmael
  13. Last month we saw a 21 pt jump (ex fako) when util dropped from ~ 80% to 48% // Today I woke up to another nice surprise as reported balances dropped util to 9% and we rec'd another 13 pt bump. In total we've had a 70 pt jump over 45 days with reduction of utilization and losing two old 30 day-lates! Woot! ex-592-662 Sincerely Stoked, Ishmael
  14. Congrats!
