  1. Usually an ambulance collection. What is the likelihood of them taking me to court over this? I haven't received anything in writing in a long time. I never received an itemized bill either.
  2. Okay, since posting this thread today I rec'd a call from yet another collection agency - Bay Area Credit Services - for the same bill. I refuse to answer their calls and they did not leave a message. However, Bay Area is not listed on any of my credit reports. What now? What do I need to do if these salamanders keep calling me? This is my business line, by the way.
  3. US MAIL PAPER TRAIL ON-LINE there is a 99% chance they won't investigate anything You can do it with $0.44 (you don't always have to send it CERTIFIED R/R) Does it take longer for the company to respond, or are they given more time since it's by mail?
  4. What is the best way to file a dispute on a credit report? Is there any one way that is best?
  5. I have a medical bill from 2005 on my credit report. I disputed it and just got the "verification" from Transunion that it's accurate and no changes. I tried to dispute it again but it wouldn't allow me to. How long before I can resubmit a dispute? It says the original amount was $727 but they have $800 on my credit report. It also says it's going to remain on my credit report until 2012. I am still trying to figure out about the statute of limitations on medical bills in the state of Nevada where it originated and haven't had any luck.
  6. That's why I posted here. I am new to this b.s. I have never had a problem with being charged for something I didn't owe. I've already mailed the letter. Also, it was suggested by another member in another post thread to write the CEO of the company, which I did.
  7. I have no idea what that means. I would assume open account?
  8. I was told there is a statute of limitations on medical collections, but I haven't found anything in writing. I received a bill in 2005. It's listed on my credit report as being with a collection agency, who stopped calling me about 6 months ago or so. Did they give up?
  9. How is this? The debt described by Traveler’s Advantage/Affnion Group, Acct # XXXX, is inaccurate. It is not my debt, and never was my debt. Traveler’s Advantage made an unauthorized charge to my credit card, to which I disputed, to which they had 45 days to respond, to which they did not. I have since written a letter to Nathaniel Lipman at the corporate headquarters of Trilegiant Corporation to handle this matter. I demand that your company cease and desist from contacting me again about a debt that is not mine. I demand that my name be cleared of this issue immediately. I am fully prepared to file a lawsuit against any further harassment.
  10. This was my original post with my original issue concerning Traveler's Advantage. http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?s...r%27s+advantage I wrote the CEO of Traveler's Advantage, provided copies of all of my correspondence, and told him I am fully prepared to settle this matter in court. The collection agency finally gave up on calling me and sent me a letter, basically stating that I owe this debt, which I do not, and they have given me 30 days to file a dispute. I have avoided it for a while and now I have about a week left to respond. What is the best way to respond to this? I was thinking something along the lines of "This is not my debt. This never was my debt. I demand that you cease and desist from contacting me again about this matter."
  11. The problem is, I don't know who at USAA to contact. When I originally told them about it they said to contact Traveler's Advantage. It's the same old runaround like with everything else. I would definitely like to make a complaint/report Traveler's Advantage to USAA about this.
  12. I didn't receive it either but when I logged into USAA Rewards program part of their website, it was there.
  13. Thanks so much for your advice. I am definitely going to contact their headquarters. The last time I had an issue with a big company (Best Buy) I did the same and ended up getting a free computer for my troubles.
  14. Has anyone had issues with USAA Travel Rewards program? I can't seem to get any answers from USAA or know where to begin. I had an unauthorized credit card charge from their travel group, disputed it, and now they have sent me to a credit agency.
  15. To clarify some of the issues here... This was an online/phone transaction. I am not aware of any of the "fine print" because I never signed anything. My husband and I get points for using our debit/credit cards through our bank. We then trade in these points for various things, cheaper plane tickets being one of them. This is a new thing to me because I have never used services like these before. In fact, they originally made a mistake on the transaction by putting my husband's name on the ticket instead of mine. We are required to call a number in order to redeem the points and then go from there by speaking to one of their reps at Affinion Group. The only fine print that I have seen is in regards to the reward points and if you miss your flight they are nonrefundable. Other than that, nothing. I called the travel company, told them what I wanted and that a friend was paying for the ticket. The agent then called my friend herself in order to get her credit card number. As far as we both knew, everything went through okay. Had it not, they should have notified me because I could not afford to take this trip and would never have gone had I had to pay for the ticket myself. At the very least, they could have called me and said the charge did not go through, and ask if I had another way to pay for it. They charged an expired card they had on file!!
