Maybe I've been away for too long, but what's SC and how do you sign up for it?

That is excellent What kind of score increase have you seen? I can't wait till my EQ inqs start falling! Around a 20 pt FAKO increase. I still have some collections I want to clear before I check my FICOs. -

I didn't want to upset the C* Gods by posting about my success before it was done, but...EQ and TU are Inq-free!! After freaking out about EQ C* at the beginning of Feb, I stuck with CCT and MPM and got everything clean a week ago. My advice to anyone is to either cross your fingers and wish for the best or try again in November. -
Well, is there any database around here for car insurers that don't check CRs?

Spiegel's pulled a hard on me. I thought it was supposed to be a soft.

Yes, but what if, as in my case, you have high 5 figures of “bad debt†WRONGLY reporting? That (+ things like student loans reporting 2-3x even though they are WRONG) jacks up your “good†v. “bad†debt ratio horribly, especially if you don’t have much “good†debt b/c you are rebuilding from your past credit mistakes. Successfully disputing some baddies (like tax liens or duplicate student loans) can take years + there’s no easy way to “prove†that the baddie is reporting wrong. Oh, I completely agree. Ultimately, prospective employees are facing another random and potentially inaccurate algorithm similar to Fico and Fakos.

I think a lot of these credit checks just look at the ratio of "good" to "bad" debt.

If I were you, somebody would darn well have to show me that lease. Tracking it down from the complex itself would be my first course of action.

I've been a member for over a month and eagarly await this awesome shredder I keep hearing about.

Employment INQs are soft (or they're supposed to be anyway) and you have to sign a form authorizing it.

I don't think it was a promotion it was temp-to perm position Ah, my mistake.

I thought it was pretty much common practice these days. I can understand her not getting the promotion, but firing her from her existing job seems a bit shady to me.

Once I've finished my disputing, paid off any creditor with PP, and applied for a few CCs I'm freezing my 3 CRs (although at that point you could argue there's no reason to do so). I think another reason to freeze is to redirect pulls to a certain CRA.

You never know when you need your good credit. Trust me. Your car is almost paid for so it's not all bad. Is balance transfer an option for you?

I think I have the same problem. The only open accounts I have are student loans. I was going to wait and get an unsecured card later this year, but I'm going to take the advice in this thread and get something secured. I just need to find one without mountains of fees.
