Question:
I had was reported to chex systems by Wamu in 2006. So I went to every bank I could think of under the sun and couldn't get an account opened. In 2007 a Wamu manager opened an account for me. 1 week later it was frozen (I figured this out while trying to pay for dinner at a resturaunt). Anyways called her and she re-opened it. I havent had an issue with them since and have never over-withdrawn my account.
Well about 8 months ago I was informed that Wamu was changing to Chase. So I was a little frightened that they might close my account so I went to US Bank after reading about them and their forgiveness towards people on chex systems.
I just opened the account with $100. I took $80 thinking ahh, Ill never touch the $20 in there. I fist wanted to see if the would freeze it like wamu did to me. Well one day I was out of town and my atm card wouldn't work at a gas station (wouldnt read, old card). So I used my US bank card and filled up my tank. I completely forgot about taking the $80 out as it had been a few months. So my account was over withdrawn for by $45 plus the I wanna say $35 NSF. Well I disregarded the letters I got from the bank thinking they were just account statements and well needless to say the account was closed. So about 2 months later, I went in to the branch one day to order checks (I thought Id start using the account now) and was informed of the closed account. I then paid the balanced owed to them. I couldn't talk to the about re-opening the account then as the manager was out to lunch. I never went back and never re-opened it. Now Im kinda thinking "shoot" I should see as the complete wamu/ chase transformation is happening in the next few weeks.
Do you think US Bank would take me back?
