Recieved a letter from US Bank that I had a judgement on my credit and they denied me. My Experian is a 680 (was 700). A 680 and i am not credit worthy? Old judgement is two years old and experian will not let me re-dispute no matter what i send them. Oh, and its a paid Judgement. They even told me what my score was and who they pulled.

It's like I keep trying to impress upon people.

Scores alone do not approvals make.

I think that's a little much to base a denial on a paid judgement, but anyone offering to grant you credit will review your reports as well as the information you supply on the application.

yep, thats what there letter said. That sucks. I am still tring to get that judgement off. Experian keeps ignoring me.So I tried changing my address and they said they would not, because I have other accounts that have that address "Attached" to it. now I need to find a new angle

i would look for inaccuracies with it like you would a bankruptcy.

FWIW - i have banked with usbank for 15 years and still was declined a few years back because one tradeline still had the IIB reference on it. i had 725 scores at the time.

Agree! The score just opens the door. Companies differ on how much weight they give to items on the report. US Bank is just one bank. Find some that give weight to an overall good picture, instead of putting too much weight on just one item.

Public records of any type (BK, judgements, liens, etc.) are typical denial reasons for credit cards. I've tried to apply for some of the "easier" ones and have been denied due to the presence of judgements on my reports, though others with lower scores have been approved. It's really difficult to have judgements removed, but I was highly successful at removing them off of TU and EQ (EX still won't remove certain addresses, so I cannot get the one removed; the other one has already fallen off due to age).
