Rawhide's Success Story

I pulled my credit reports, and had a charge off and a couple of thirty day lates. I got my charge off supressed under New York state law that says paid charge offs can be removed. So, I paid the charge off, supressed the entry on my credit reports. Then I moved on to removing the 30 day lates. One came off with a dispute, the other (held by NCO)proved much harder, but I finally got it supressed.
Once all those entries were removed, my wife put me on as an AU on her 9 year old Sears card, and I was off to the races. Through a combination of CLI's and card combinations my credit cards now look like this:
Amex Platinum Charge
Amex Delta - 51K
Chase Continental World MC - 48.5K
MBNA Merrill+ Visa - 40K
Now, I dont apply for anymore cards, and only twice a month look at my credit reports. All reports are clean and free of inquiries. All three report scores are in the middle 700's

I love your credit lines and also how you have only 4 cards. My goal is to have 5 credit cards all over $20,000 plus 2 store cards and 1 gas card. You're a great inspiration!!
While there are many out here on the boards who like having many smaller lines, I prefer the ease of book keeping that comes with only having a few cards. I have also found that it is easier to get the larger CL's if you dont have a lot of smaller cards. Plus, I can carry all of them in my wallet!

Rawhide:
Can you explain about how you got your charge off supressed? And which specific NYS law are you referring to? I am new to this site and I have been reading up on charge offs and finding out the proper way to have them removed from my credit reports.
thanks,

I'm new to this but I have a question for you. Does your income matter in the credit limit you receive or is it solely score driven? (This is assuming your score is over 700.)

Truly impressive credit limits! I know I'm new to this whole credit thing but wow. I had no idea one could amass that much credit.

Income plays into the equation with each individual creditor.

Amex Blue 100K (Converted from Delta Amex)
Chase Continental 78.5K
Merrill+ still 40K (but will get my other 25K from BoA when consolidation is complete)
I did close out my Amex Platinum charge card because I quit travelling so much.
I have so far resisted doing more apps, just preferring my credit reports to age gracefully like fine wine.
