Hello everyone,

I previously submitted a thread last year regarding my defaulted student loans. After heeding the much valued advice from the board I finally rehabbed my loans and eagerly awaited the deletion of the 11 negative TL's from my CR.

Unfortunately, I was mistaken because even though the D.O.E TL was removed the remaining TL's for USA FUNDS remained.

I thought that all TL's pertaining to my SL's would deleted. I spoke to a D.O.E rep and she said that was the case.

Now I have to wait for the 7 year SOL to expire which is another four years...

B)

?- Has anyone encountered this situation

?- Is there anyway to have the items deleted sooner...would a goodwill letter work

I thank you all in advance for your assistance

Yup - search this forum under my user name. Same thing happened to me. Call up USA funds, get transferred to rehab dept., ask them to remove negative tradelines. Took about 10 days to remove from all 3 bureaus once I finally got in touch with the right person at USA.

Good luck... :)

(Color me embarrassed..I replied to the wrong thread).... :D

Thank you all for your replies,

I will definitely send a letter to USA Funds and request (i.e beg) them to remove the tradelines from my CR.

Hey it's nothing but a try right?

Cheech, I will be sure to read your posts in further detail in an attempt to gain more knowledge about this issue.

Thanks again. I will keep you all updated regarding my progress.

Keep your fingers crossed!

P.S Does anyone know the mailing address of USA Funds corporate offices?

I did a search and came up with nothing.

Hi Snowpuppy.

Thank you but my loans were CO'd by USA Funds and sold back to the DOE. Thats who I rehabbed the loans with and fixed on my CR.

?-Do you believe that they will still have information of CO'd loans?

Thanks again

As anyone here can tell you, the Dept of Ed has a very long memory :blush2: If you rehabbed with DOE they should still have your info.

A rep may be able to help you by accessing loan history which shows the date when each loan when you have went into repayment/deferment/default/completed rehab, etc. It will also show the date of the transfer/sale/claims paid of any loans.

I currently have the same problem with USA Funds, wondering where a good goodwill letter is to write and where to write it too, my loan has been in rehab for almost 4 years, but the usa funds TL is still on my CR, any help on this would be appreciated.

Hey Galvanizer,

I just created another thread containing contact info for USA Funds in the Student Loan Forum.

I just sent my goodwill letter off today. keeping my fingers crossed.

I used the sample goodwill letter from this board:

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1889

I had to edit it significantly to fit this specific case. Unfortunately I did not save a copy of my letter before sending it out.

In addition:

-I also provided them with a copy of my letter from the DOE stating that I was out of rehab and the latest copy of credit report showing that they were the last holdouts (lol)

-I also provided my DOE ombudsman contact info as well as the contact info of the rep at the collection agency to back me up regarding all my on time payments.

I'm throwing the kitchen sink in because I dont know what will or wont work.

Hope this helps
