Just wanted to give a big thanks to CB and all that contribute. I started to repair my credit at the end of Jan and today just received a CLI and three new approvals. CB was beyond helpful with the process.

Back in late Jan I had Fico (from MyFico.com) scores of:

TransUnion 587

Equifax 607

Experian ??? (hopefully know soon with the new agreement between Fico and Experian)

I had 2 unpaid judgments, an open collection, 3 charge offs, and a bunch of 30-60-90s.

Using information here combined with a little help on the smaller things from Lexington Law, yesterday my scores reached:

TransUnion 698

Equifax 702

Experian ??? (Fako from FreeCreditReport.com = 685)

Report is by no means perfect now, but the big things are off. Only two older charge offs and some late payments remain. Was able to get the judgments vacated in exchange for payment as well as a PFD on the collection. Though the collection originated from one of the charge offs that's still on my report. Any opinions on if I should dispute the CO to get it showed as paid? I did that with another CO that was a judgment and I think it actually hurt my score.

Also paid off a car loan a few months early. Seems like that not being open now actually hurt my score a bit. Fighting the temptation to go buy a new one and get another loan.

Anyway, yesterday once I saw my Equifax score had broken 700 I started on my App process.

1. Request CLI on my two open accounts.

  • One is the Best Buy Cap One card. They told me it'd be a soft pull. Liars. I even verified and they said if definitley would be a soft pull. Bastards. Hard pull and denided. Stayed at $1,660.
  • The other is a Capiatl One platinum. Credit limit was at $3k, and the executive office jumped it to $5k today. They still haven't called back, but I see it online. This was a soft pull.

2. Attempt to get 3 new cards based on the Credit Pulls DB:

  • Started with DCU. Had to open a savings acct and fax over info, but just approved for $5k. (Equifax inquiry)
  • Then Discover It. Instant approval for $6,500. (Experian and Equifax inquiries)
  • Finally the one I figured was a long shot, Amex Blue Everyday... Instant approval for $7,500. (TransUnion inquiry)

Not the double digit credit lines I see many of you have, but not a bad start considering where I was at back in Jan. I'm sure I'll see some hit on my scores from the new inquires and opened accounts, but worth it in the long run I think.

Thanks again to CreditBoards and all that contribute. I look forward to passing along some of the knowledge to others. I would have made a bunch of mistakes without this site.

This is great to see! Just starting my credit repair journey this week. The more I read on here the more work it looks like I have ahead but if I can get my score to a point where I start getting CLI's and approved for new cards in a few months it will all be worth it. Thanks for sharing.

Good luck! That's one of the reasons why I shared. As you're doing it, it's a pain in the @ss, but good to know it pays off.

Great job MM, I am planning my app spree for next month, Dosent it feel good to see your hard work paying off?

Most definitely. I would've been happy with even half the success I had. So definitely satisfied.

Nice! You may be double digits soon from amex 3x CLI on day 61.

Now this is awesome! Didn't even know about this, but I just found a thread on here talking about it. With recect success I went over $25k in available revolving credit, which is great for keeping my utilization under 7%. But if Amex triples and I go to over $40k total, that's all I can see needing anytime in the near future. Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure to try that in a couple months.
