Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has had any experience working as a contractor for any company and having issues getting financing for a vehicle or even a refinance. I used to belong to a credit union about 5 years ago and had applied for an auto loan and was denied due to what they called irregular employment. The contract position that I may be taking is not capped. So I can understand the risk as there is no minimum or maximum amount of time for work. However, I worked 2 years as a contractor before being converted into a full time employee.

I'm wanting to possibly refinance in a year or two at most and was wondering how often this comes up. At the time, the company that I was a contractor for did have staffing in the name of the company so that was probably the red flag.

Any others have experience please chime in.

Thanks....
