Hello, I'm assuming because EX is starting to allow access to FICO for consumers, creditors are using them more. I figured I would test the waters just to see what creditors see on their side. I applied for TJX and a USAA checking. I have a HP for EX from TJX and a SP from USAA. My DH has a HP from USAA. No approval/denials yet, but I'm almost it's denied.

Just beware if EX is your worse... :(

Is this assessment being based on a study not mentioned in the first post?

Seriously. Why the hell would having FICOs available to consumers make any difference? EX has always been the largest CRA. Don't go around making statements based on anecdotal evidence from YOUR experiences. This is how people get confused.

Mods may want to lock...

That was a bit harsh - and I really do not see a need to lock.

That's fine. Your call. It's completely baseless misinformation.

It's not, actually quite a few of us have been tracking an uptick in Experian pulls from creditors who have not historically used them...

As a creditor, I could care less what Experian chooses to release through another channel. It will have no impact on my preferred bureau. Nor will it impact what any of my lending partners have chosen as their default bureau.

That is probably due to pricing structure. Experian credit product is less expensive than the others. Equifax is always the most expensive.

Sure, these things are going to fluctuate all the time. Markets are rarely in equilibrium. They always overshoot. After EX gains market share, EQ/TU will try to become more competitive. Data that shows there actually is a real uptick beyond historical norms would be great to have. However, the linkage to consumer scores is still baseless misinformation.

Well as that poster has a right to post his information, you do also and it is noted.

As in all credit related matters, some applies to some...

Some does not...

Take what you will...

Leave what you will....

But there is no need to be abrupt and suggest locking the thread, if you don't like something you read - you have the option to by pass it ;)

To MarvBear and hrguy, I would like to offer my sincere thanks to you.

I do apologize to those readers who feel my topic has misguided them. Maybe a question mark after the topic heading will help to drive the point that this is my opinion? I did mean to
place one there as I usually do. I wrote this topic after my experience, yes, and was trying to get others opinions, which I believe is one of the reasons we have this wonderful site. I did check the Creditpulls database for the two creditors I spoke of and saw they typically pull TU and/or Equifax. So, I thought I was being helpful. Hopefully, others who’ve read this post are not discouraged from posting.

However, I have read my post several times and I fail to understand how my opinion of my experiences led to such venom being spewed.

I did nothing to hurt anyone, so I will choose to ignore the evil, sarcastic, demeaning, and cynical comments certain people have made. Negativity is always an easy path to go down. I choose to take the much harder path.

With that being said… I’ll refer to my parents’ advice to me, “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything.”

I pray others will do the same.

God Bless

You're welcome. Everyone's info is just as valuable as the other. It may apply or it may not....and more than likely someone may have the same exact problem no matter how infrequent or abnormal the occurrence, which is why it is supposed to be a free environment to post. I do not think you're topic was misguided, it has actually been discussed in other threads....as recently as the day before your post.

There is nothing wrong with respectfully disagreeing AND having information to back-up your stance to share. Otherwise, keep reading....there is more than adequate content that will apply to you and what you are going through :)

I guess the heat is getting to some folks already..
