Sportsman Guide Visa

Hello,

 

Approved for the Sportsman Guide Visa with the shopping card trick but didn't give me any info on the limit. Anyone have info on what they usually start with when approved this way? Also if I cancelled the order after accepting the card will this be a problem?

 

Nice feeling getting the pop up. Are there any other WFNNB visa cards that do that?

I would call the Sportsmans Guide Phone number and talk to a Customer Service 1-888-252-5557. Give them your information and let them know that you got approved for the Visa online and you were inquiring about how much your CL is. They will tell you instantly.

 

As for proceeding with a purchase, I dont think it matters if you use it or clear your cart, but I could be incorrect. I have heard that it does not matter regarding other Comenity Cards. I did use the card for my 1st purchase at pre-approval, so I cannot be 100% on that one. YMMV.

Yes the shopping cart trick is hit or miss. I have been shopping on the Sportsman's Guide website for about 3 years. It was not until 3 months ago that I finally got the pop-up preapproval for their VISA card. I shop there about 10-15 times each year. What was strange IMO is that I did an application (Hard Pull) for the Visa card about 1 month prior to the pre-approval cart and was declined with a letter stating prior BK was the reason for denial, however I was laughing because it said my score was 959 out of a possible 999. So even though I scored well, they denied me. Just about 30 days later I got the pre-approval pop-up on the site (pulled soft EQ for this as PRM).

 

So I guess because I did a HP and was declined then I was somehow linked into their system...and whamo the following month I got the pre-approval. I have tried the shopping cart trick on other related sites with ZERO pop-up pre-approvals so far. So it is very hit and miss.

Yes you can clear your cart... no purchase necessary.

 

I was approved for 2K a few months ago.

The limit is 2K and as mentioned above I was also denied a month ago when I applied with a HP, and today it just came up. I like how this works with the SP but for the life of me I can't get a pop up for Express or J Crew. Still don't know what the APR is and the CSR couldn't confirm it.
