They reported an OLD account of DH's as a new derogatory on May 5th and again today. I just sent out the initial DV letters but I am so pissed. From what I have been reading here and other places a CA cannot report old debt as new and they cannot continue to report it over and over. Twice in one month, come on!!!! And, WhyChat, are they bound to the same laws as far as not being able to collect in my state if they are not licensed?

Did you opt out and delete old addresses??

 

Was this account previously disputed and deleted??

 

If so, send the CRA the re-insertion letter.

As to what "laws" the scum scam garbage CAs choose to follow-- the answer is NONE. That is why this forum and the others on creditboards exist.

 

If your response is to send them DV letters-- that has the same effect as clicking on the remove link on spam, all you are doing is notifying them that they have a correct address and have gotten your attention.

Sorry I will start a thread just about my situations. I meant that I JUST yesterday sent out the Pre HIPPA letters from your series. I have not disputed or called or messed with this account since it occurred in 2008. I did opt out and delete as many as they would delete. Of course, Experian is not being helpful at all on that end. They will only remove the ones not tied to collection accounts.
