So About a month ago i sent the letter that i was told to send in this forum http://whychat.5u.com/hipaadisp.html

I have waited, with only one of the CRA (which is the collections dept at the DR office) trying to contact me via phone, in which i did not answer or reply to their voice mail.

NOW, my question is that according to the forum I CANNOT move forward with the next step/letter until " -WAIT FOR THE FULL RESPONSE FROM THE CRA BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE HIPAA LETTER PROCESS"

if their only form of contact will be phone, which i should not answer because there is no proof or paper trail for my records (RIGHT?), or they do not reply at all BUT DO NOT REMOVE them from my CR, WHAT should my next step be?!
Thanks!

+1 to posting in the med forum. Before you sent the letter did you opt-out and remove any old/incorrect addresses? Did you use credit reports from annualcreditreport.com...and use your file id number? If you did then you are on the right track...but the CRA's have up to 45 days to respond when you use a free report. Normally TU will update 1st...2-3 weeks I believe is average for them. EQ probably around the 30 day mark. EX will take their sweet time and probably not respond until that 45th day.

If you following WhyChat's process...exactly as he has it laid out...you will most likely see great results. But posting in the med forum will give WhyChat a better idea of where you are in the process and he generally posts responses to questions/concerns regularly.

Also, CRA is Credit Reporting Agency (Transunion, Experian, Equifax)...those are who you send your Pre-hipaa letters to...not the CA (collection agency) or OC (original creditor). The program will have you send letters to CA's and OC's...but not until after you've received responses from the CRA's. Again, the best thing you can do is post in the medical forum and explain what you have done so far :) Good luck!
