We are going on a trip soon, and, well, we want to make sure to keep phones charged. I was thinking about getting one of these backup batteries which you may plug into your cellphone when it starts to get low..

I was thinking it would be good to have one with two charging ports as...one cellphone is useless..

Anyone have a favorite that isn't the size of a brick?

I could bring a backpack with me but as most of mine......draw attention.. that's not great.. I could try and get a photographers vest, but...that should honestly draw /more/ attention.. but eh..

Anyway, suggestions on phone battery backups? Thanx.

Why is one cellphone useless?

I have one that will give me about a 40% charge, and it's about 2.5"x2.5"x1/2".

Also, car chargers, and I've had decent luck in airports finding power outlets.

I have a backup charger, but it really takes too long and doesn't hold a charge long enough to be efficient for a portable. After our last looong power outage last summer, either the derecho or Sandy, I bought an additional battery. It's much smaller than a portable charger, and stays charged for months, when not in use. When traveling, I just slip the extra battery in my bag.

What is the sound one one hand clapping? You get separated from your group and can't find them, it doesn't matter if you have a cellphone if the other people in your party's phones are all suffering from cellular necrosis..and I imagine you use your battery quicker in areas of low reception or high interference because your phone keeps hunting for signal.. I know my phone definitely burns out faster when I'm on the road..

we make a lot of trips and have gotten our cell phone charges down to a science. Basically anytime we are in a car they are plugged in. Since most all smart phones use the same charger we carry 1 plug in charger which also has a USB port so we can either charge our other phone or the camera with that port. We are very conscious of where we can charge our stuff so if my wife needs to use the restroom and I don't I will stop at the first outlet I see and get a good 10 min charge in. Or if we are eating dinner I will see if I can find an outlet nearby.

As mentioned above, having a 2nd battery is very useful as well. We did have that last year but this year we upgraded to the Galaxy 3 so now we dont have the extra battery.

I bought one just a little bigger than a lighter. I have not tested it out yet . I bought it at No More Rack The price seemed to be cheap compared to Amazon etc.

If I cant mention buisness names Im sorry

I think having an extra battery might be the best answer.

However, if we will be dealing with an iPhone, that becomes more problematic (since they are not supposed to be changed out by the end user....or at least that is what I have heard.)
