I applied at Walmart and received this

The request was judgmentally reviewed and denied for the following reason(s):

HIGH RISK SOURCE OF APPLICATION

Educated guess on my part, but I bet that's it.

The Google machine told me that there aren't any physical stores in Guam or I would have encouraged you to go in and apply in person.

I would try to resurrect your application over the phone, or just apply anew the old-fashioned way, over the telly.

There wasn't even an inquiry, I'll just wait until I move in a couple of months.

Oh, the Google machine also told me that American soldiers deployed in other countries who applied with GE (the issuer of the Walmart card) online also got this message, hence my barely-educated guess above. :P

:offtopic: No Walmart?

I guess that explains why Guam hasn't been admitted as a state. :P

I've never been there, but it must truly be paradise if it doesn't have the Worst Retail Experience anywhere.

I have, but I must admit it didn't occur to me to seek out a Walmart.

There is a Walmart less than a mile from my house, and it doesn't occur to me to seek out a Walmart.

I'm from Guam! I still have a Guam Drivers License, and Walmart was the only GE card I could apply for online. The others don't have a GU option. I would say call, because you can use it to order from Walmart.com. They do ship to Guam.

And Guam is awesome!

GE will kill any apps from outside the US before an inquiry takes place. This includes if you accidentally app from a proxy server that does not reflect a US IP address.

Then I would just like to point out the genius who began exploring this line of thinking in the first reply to OP.

Try the phone. I think it'll work, depending on the contents of your credit report, of course. I doubt they even pulled it.

I believe you have to wait 30 days and reapply. Even over the phone the system well not pull a credit report. You'll get a denial that says previous app already submitted. Edited by melikey

Nice place, just harsh to non-locals in the job market. =(

I was born and raised there, but my dad is from Nebraska, so I still get the "haole" label most of the time. Jobs in Tumon are friendlier to non-locals. Or the military contractors. Or you could marry a local, your in-laws will pull strings to get you a job. Lol. That's usually how stuff works. My grandpa got my dad his jobs there.
