You know, if I ever found a winning lottery ticket in a cookie jar and I was facing foreclosure, I would have tears of joy. I'm sure Mr. Cerezo had that same feeling after that happened, especially after he lost his 14-year-old daughter last year. I wish you good luck, Mr. Cerezo.

And speaking of lottery, everyone, the jackpot for Powerball is now $475 million.

Sometimes, good things happen at the right time.

And, speaking of that, I will be making my semi-annual attempt at cashing in on the redneck retirement fund on the way home.

Great story. Usually, if you don't check the numbers, you find out about it when the news reports a winning ticket at a store you go to. Then you check if you caught the news. That's what happened to my gf's best friend back in the 90's. Heard the store mentioned on the news and checked the numbers.

There has to be stories out there of people that bought a winning ticket and didn't know it but found it accidently after the time expired.

Dang....time to go to the corner store.

Yup... I usually only spend 10-20 at max tho.. I don't go overboard.. well maybe people will think 10-20 is going over board.. lol.But I only play when it gets this high.

Here's a dirt poor village in Spain where all the residents bought a share in Spain's huge el gordo lottery - and won. Well, almost all.

I love this response

One enterprising vendor drove a €200,000 Jaguar into the square, and parked it prominently to entice the local buyers. But he was dismayed when a villager's response was: "What would I do with that? I'd rather have a new tractor."

and My first reaction was, 'That's nice for them,'" said Mr Mitsotakis, 43, from Athens. "I didn't quite realise how enormous a deal it was.

"I drove into town and the whole place was going crazy. So I went home to get my camera, and started filming."

Mr Mitsotakis is now making a documentary about the win, Cuando Toco, ("When Touched"), and is remarkably sanguine about the fact that he alone missed out.

"I suppose if I had been planning on buying a ticket and didn't then I would be freaking out. But the Housewives' Association who sell the tickets didn't come this far out, so I didn't buy one," he said. "I'm not upset."

This one gave me a chuckle One man did go on holiday to Italy - but returned vowing never to travel again, describing it as "exhausting".

If I won the lottery, I would let my interests grow, I would donate to charity, and get plenty of Christmas gifts for the family. I'd probably move to Canada sometime later.
