Guys.......I just received a late payment that I have NEVER done! For $50. How do I dispute this?

and I have an idea of what might've caused this!!! A stupid WEX account that I was clearly approved for and was immediately taken away from me (Stroked knows).

They gave me an account number and billed me the first month for a $40 activation fee. On an account I never had. I called them to explain and they said they'll take care of it. The next month, they did it again! I got another invoice and was told that no one took care of it the first time and that it would be taken care of now (this was 3 weeks ago)

So now...............I look at my dnb file and my 80 is still there but my payment in terms is 97% instead of 100% and my commercial credit score dropped from a 1 to a 2.

After one hour on the phone with dnb, I finally was able to have someone put in a dispute on my behalf. There was a pop-up on their I-update site that constantly kept saying "please enter a selection". Real aggravating but nice lady was helping me out. Did some troubleshooting and at the end since nothing was working, she just put the dispute in for me.

The first lady I talked to.......WOW!!!! I said "I'd like to dispute something" and she went straight for the sales pitch. For 12 minutes she didn't say anything about my dispute and all she did was tell me about a great deal on the creditbuilder. She was ready to take down my cc information haha. I told her " I don't want the service at this time ma'am" and she responded "is it because of the price?" and I said "No, I just called to dispute something" and told me to go to I-update. Unbelievable. I've been through it before, but this was bad.

I didn't bother with WEX cause it might actually not be them. Either way, thank you all very much.

Just call them and dispute it.
It will adjust In about a week.
It has happened to me a couple of times.

Yes just call DNB or even call Wex to have them fix it.. It's not a big issue for now your just like every other business paying a little late!

I have done my disputes through IUPDATE. Get prepared to get sucked into their sales pitches.

My first choice would be Iupdate but it seems like when you use that you end up having to do it 3,4 or 5 times for it to actually get done. Probably done on purpose so you have to call.

dnb resolved my issue. And it turns out it was WEX because I received another invoice yesterday along with a late fee. Pieces of crap!

I don't even have an account with them and they are reporting me to the cra's as late. That's not right. I called yesterday and told them off. Let's see if they come at me again next month.

So you have never had an account with wex?

If you did a long time ago ask them to waive the fees. They did for me once.

No I never did and I still don't. It was from that pep boys account that I had gotten approved for a few months back. Then days later they closed my account saying I don't meet their requirements (which was BS). But that account number that was originally created for me is still there and I've been getting billed monthly to pay the annual fee. I called in the third time this past month to tell them to stop billing me because I do not have an account with them. Frustrating. And with this last invoice they had sent a late fee penalty of $10.

I think Wex's salespeople have a good amount of influence in getting new accounts opened and I think this is why often you see accounts closed shortly after. When I first applied years back I received a letter saying they wanted a deposit to open the account but then about two weeks later I received the cards with a $4k limit so go figure.

Same identical wex experience.

They were my first attempted account.

Needless to say was denied , and I was subsequently billed for and reported late to DNB.

All was resolved with a few calls .

They're annoying. It's a shame that it requires a few calls. One call should do it. I'm still paranoid that I am going to go through this again in a couple of weeks.

If you were denied why would they bill you? I was initially approved, then closed. When I got their invoice (3x) it has the account number that they initially gave me. When you got billed did you have an account number on you?
