The sheer number of posts that have had their entire content edited out for varying reasons is starting to really get out of hand.

One of the founding premises for this board was that we wanted a place that had integrity - meaning posts were not deleted. The deletion of the content of posts is just as detrimental to that integrity as the deletion of entire posts. It serves the board no purpose, but only the interests of those doing the editing.

In the interest of maintaining the integrity of the board, we are asking that you refrain from deleting the content of your posts. We understand the need to edit occasionally for spelling or typographical errors, but more substantial editing than that makes us crazy. Crazy admin and mods is not a good thing

THE EDIT FUNCTION IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT.

Should this privelige continue to be abused, we will modify the board's setup so that editing is no longer an option.

This is from a cursory search Pam, based on my frustration today (though I intend to keep updating it), should I really search it's continuously ongoing despite this posting.

Not linking to single anyone out but to show what the problem is when it occurs and how often -- it renders the thread worthless as well as the advice given and any discussion that occurred, of no value to the archives for those of us that search, and can't be used as a resource for anyone else looking for answers that are in a similar place.
