Has anyone here ever used a Regus office for their business? Do you have any experiences with them, good or bad?

In regards to credit, does the fact that a bunch of businesses will use the same address effect your business credit?

I have not registered my business yet, should I use a different address such as my home, or will that address be fine?

I have a quote already, which is higher than what they adverstise, but the "corporate" look/feel I still like, and it appears you do get a lot of added benefits.

Thanks

Thank you. I was actually talking about office space as well, which I do need.

In regards to credit, after looking at our link, I did a search for regus on the board (which I should have done initially  ) and found a few conflicting answers. I definitely see that it won't HELP credit. Do you agree with others that it could possibly get you flagged, and then hurt your business credit score? From what I read it looks like if I use Regus, I should still then use my home address as my business address?

It's a bad idea to use a Regus address when your building credit.. It can get you flagged if any other factors besides the address look odd. But also when creditors google the address which a lot of them do they will see what you see and that is usually dozens of addresses at that one place and it being a Regus address. These places are often used by people looking to defraud creditors so that's why they don't like to see them.

Look for other places that don't bring up so many hits on Google. Check out Craigslist usually you will find a few others besides Regus that offer the part time office space and address. A better idea if you can find a small affordable place is to rent a small office for your needs and then you can also sell a business mailing address to other business owners. Even if you have just 10 people that could be around $500 per month and possibly rent free for you. That works out good for others since it won't be over crowed with businesses at that one address which is the issue with places like Regus.

If those ideas don't work for you use your home address. Creditors really want to see where you actually work. Only a handful of places may not give you credit because you don't have a commercial location but that's only if they know that any way.

I have known no one that had issues with credit regarding regus.

the big thing... office space there is really expensive. For instance, a one room office in NJ would run me about 750 a month at Regus...

I had a one room office out of an attorney's office for $425.

I guess you don't know enough people then! Joking.... When I first started out I used them and had a creditor ask me for my real address! So yes it does happen.

The one near me only uses one suite number and inside the suite you have small offices so even if you have a actual space it looks like one suite. Not sure if others do it that way but its just stupid. If your looking for a actual office space there are much better more affordable places out there besides Regus.

No problem. Glad I could help.

I do not agree with that. The same amount of people that say you will get flagged for an office space like that will say the same will happen with a home address. The likleyhood of that happening is slim.

As I said you could get flagged using a address like that along with other factors.. Using a cell phone especially a prepaid type, new in business, have numerous businesses, etc. So not just the address per say. A home address really won't get you flagged some creditors just don't like to see them but its becoming more and more common for companies to work from a house so that may change.

Stop telling someone that they can get flagged for using a prepaid cell phone. That is so far from even remotely accurate it's ridiculous..

I don't know one reptuable person on here that has gotten ''Flagged'' for having a virtual office space,Home based business or by using a cell phone service as a main business line. (I have PERSONAL experience with all of this)Users ask this question sometimes (Can I get flagged by doing this....) which is perfectly fine. Any question is. It's mainly brought up from age old threads. Things have changed so lets move forward.

Another reason against using a virtual address..

Also places that sell virtual addresses may also be using a private mail box store for that address. I believe a company called Opus does that. They sell you a virtual address and the address is a private mail box location similar to a UPS store. How do you think that looks when your applying for credit?

The OP is not talking about obtaining a virtual office. Do not clutter up this members thread with your useless crap. If you can not answer the OP's original question then do not post in this or any other thread. This is your last warning regarding this issue. This is also your last warning to stop arguing with staff. We are not here to entertain you. If you have something to say directly to me you can
PM me. But I think you already know how that will go.

How am I arguing? And this involves the OP's question since he looking to rent at a well known virtual address location. I'm backing up my responses with info for a educated decision.

I am starting my business as we speak, and plan on following the steps in the thread that was posted.

In regards to Regus, I was considering it because I want to hire 2 sales reps, and while doing so I want the corporate "look". However the official quote came back much hire than advertised.

I may still use it, but I will way my options, advantages, etc.

Specifically in regards to credit, I was trying to get a concensus on what is the best option as far as what address to use. I could easily use my home that is not a problem.

My plan was to register everything under the address of whatever office I went with.

If I can help you with anything along the way please let me know. I would be glad to help. I would try to talk them down below the advertised price if you decide to go with them. I think they have more to work with than it may seem. Be sure to let us know how everything is going for you.

Thank You! I sent an email to the manager in regards to the fluctuation in price. And I definitely will be needing help once I really get the ball rolling.

I had one and was not penalized credit-wise. I was able to get the following:

T-Mobile Cellular
CitiAdvantage
Staples

Quill
FedEx Kinkos

My experience has been that having an actual business address (virtual or physical) and a listed business phone is vital.

The service was good; I had the virtual address and phone service. I could also use their conference space as needed, and they would add the charge to my monthly bill.

As my business grew, I switched the phone to EVoice because it was less expensive and provided more flexibility.

Their phone line automatically listed with local 411. With EVoice, I had to use list-yourself (for local 411) and register online with SuperPages and other directories to display in Google search output.
