Very new here and just have a question about some small medical collections I have. These are all under $100 (most are $50 copays that just overwhelmed us) and I want to take care of them. Can I send a simple pay for delete letter to the CA or do I have to go through the whole hipaa process. The collections are all over two years old.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I haven't only because we are looking to buy a house soon and from what I read on here lenders don't like to see disputes. Our lender didn't say I needed to remove these because they are older but I wanted to try at least but maybe I should just leave them be?

Lenders don't like to see disputes?? You think they prefer to see collection accounts??

Follow the guidelines:

If you don't opt out NOW, when you get ready to close you might find your reports riddled with numerous JDB ( junk debt buyer) accounts that may or may not have been yours, or may be from someone with a similar name.

I opted out in January so I have taken care of that. I will sit in front of the computer tonight and read the guidelines through again.

Thank you
