First of all I'd like to thank Why Chat and the HIPAA process for helping me to get several medical collections deleted. There is a newer collection account that I received a letter for from Grant & Weber for the copay from a hospital stay. The account is not yet showing on my credit reports. I am willing to pay if they can prove they are allowed to collect, however I cannot at this time pay in full. Ideally, I would like to set up a payment plan w/ the OC and keep this off my reports. If necessary I will set up a payment plan w/ the CA. This is from early last year, so well within the SOL. Should I proceed w/ the medical account DV? Thanks for all your help.

Do you have your EOMB from that hospital stay?? Does it show that same amount as patient responsibility?? Send them the medical DV.

I have the EOB, I believe it has the same initial amount I'll have to check. I'll send the medical DV asap. Thanks!

Also just got an alert that NCO put another collection on my EX report. They've been easy to remove so far, but it's just a pain that they keep seeming to find these new debts from 4 to 5 years ago.

I have, thanks to following your method I have TU clean and am waiting for results from EX and EQ, so I want to resolve the debt without having anything show up on my reports.

Send the initial medical dispute to any CRA where any new account is reporting as soon as your existing disputes are resolved.

Opt out again, you may have accidently opted back in.
