So we did not reaffirm our home in our bankruptcy and we just completed our three trial payments of our "in home mod through PNC" We were not eligible for HAMP. but PNC did actually work with us and came up with a workable solution. We received our final loan mod papers today, The terms are as follows: 4% for 480 months, no pre payment penalties. Our payment with principle and interest and escrow dropped from $1750 to $1250. They are allowing $316 of that $1250 for escrow, which is on the high end, I think we will get a refund on that which we can apply to our principle or ? They have a $30,000 forbearance that they are not including, They pushed that to the end as a balloon. (which is our last two years of unpaid escrow and payments... then they told me they waived all late payments, and their are zero closing costs. From the paperwork, looks like they waived the attorney fees too. I may have my attorney look to make sure though) It's all good because We can still technically walk away because we didn't reaffirm, but we don't want to walk away. If we do, it's just one more foreclosure added to the others. We really want to keep our home and fix it up now that we have this security of home ownership again:) Anyway, I just wanted to share with you all that just because you don't reaffirm, you can still save your home:) GL to all. and God Bless:)
