Good evening everyone! I hope this new year is treating everyone good. I have some questions about debt and paying it off. I am going to use my federal tax return to pay off all of my debt except my car and my student loans. My questions are I have quite a few showing in "collections" and negative accounts. All of them except maybe 2 are medical debts. Most of them show the OC under the CA just to show who it is but both agencies are not showing. I do not have a report from the hospital but just the CA. Can I negotiate with them to get the debts removed from my CR completely. Or do I have to go back to the OC even though they are not showing on my CR. Sorry if this is a stupid question or I missed this question being answered in another post. My CS's are Equifax 555 TU 536 EXP 559. And for whatever reason TU is my lowest score and it does not even show my BK13 while the other 2 do show my BK. But that one is also showing 10 collections account in which 9 of them are for medical bills. What is my best route to get these paid and deleted and get my score to start coming back up.

Check out the credit forum and medical collections especially Whychat's info on HIPAA. Read before you start doing anything, I learned the hard way. Pay off debts especially charge off and collections does not always translate into improved scores. Add positive thread lines such as a secure CC, store card, lian against your own funds and start tackling the negative stuff, especially look into Pay for deletion. Good luck!
