I had a charge off with chase in 2008. I called them to pay the balance. The woman asked me if I had a phone number. Told her that I'm deployed and she put me on hold. When she returned, she told me that if I sent in proof that I'm in the military, that they'd purge the balance! I sent her the info and called back a couple days later. Low and behold, my balance was purged!!!!
