Hello all! First post for me. I've been reading so much and my journey to credit enlightenment has been underway for almost a year now.

Thanks to everyone here for their help, and extra thanks to those that run this board.

Ok, my numbers are starting to look respectable because many old baddies fell off early this year. I knew this was coming so I have put off my assault on remaining baddies until now.

I am not sure what to do with this one. My EQ report shows 2 collection entries that don't even have a name. They look like this on my CR:

Is this a case where I can simply write a custom letter to EQ asking them to remove this entry because there is not even a name attached to this? I would think that would work, or at least have a decent shot at working.

What say ye? Any other advice on this one?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to CreditBoards! We hope that you find what you're looking for here.

Some helpful tips:

  • Your post may not get a reply right away. Don't be discouraged, this is a very busy board. If it falls off of the first page, feel free
to reply to your post yourself, with the word *bump* in the text. This will *bump* your post back up to the top of the board.
  • If you haven't yet, take a peek at out Newbies Section.
Everything that you need to know is in that forum, for the most part! It's a lot of reading, we know, but this credit stuff can have a steep learning curve. In no time, you'll be posting like the pros!
  • If you find that someone is discourteous to you, use the REPORT button at the bottom of every post - that will ensure that a moderator or admin looks at the post and decides if it is against the TOS.
  • Off -topic posts should go in the General Forum.

Again, welcome to the CreditBoards family!

Is this a tri-merge report? I would check EQ directly to see what they have. Sometimes the data gets jacked up with these third party services.

Indeed it is. It's from one of those credit monitoring services. I get fresh reports every month. However, what you say might be the case.

I have recently disputed and had all old addresses removed with EQ. So they should be sending me a new clean report with the changes here in the next couple of weeks. So I guess I will find out soon if that is the case.

Suppose the case is there is no name from the EQ report directly. Dispute directly with them based off my original comment?

If the EQ report does then provide a name. How would you handle this one? Direct to OC with custom letter? Or perhaps 1-2 punch?
