Just received what evidently is the standard stall tactic letter from Experian about not being able to verify my identity, therefore they can not honor my recent request. (disputing of course).

My question to everyone is this...Has anyone had success with faxing the ID information, along with a copy of their "we can't verify your identity" letter and my original dispute letter or do I need to resubmit everything via CMRRR? For those of you who have had success via faxing, would you please share the fax number you used?

Thank you!

I sent mine via regular mail and they concluded their "investigation".

Just out of curiosity, did they start the 30 day clock over again or were they pretty timely about completing their investigation?

I just cut n pasted this from Experian's website.

Experian's National Consumer Assistance Center does not recognize faxing as a secure means for transmitting confidential consumer identification information. Therefore, we do not accept consumer correspondence that is faxed to any Experian office. Faxed documents are not processed.
