So, I was on a business trip this past week, and the location was close enough to drive to, but required a multi-night hotel stay (the city is about three hours from where I live).

The hotel (a Hilton) only offers valet parking - no exceptions. Annoying, since I don't like most anyone driving my car, much less some random person. But, alas, it's required.

Yeah, they ended up denting and scratching my three week old BMW. Needless to say, I'm thoroughly pissed. The Hotel General Manager is "investigating" the issue before he makes the call to have the hotel's insurance company honor it or not.

It's not MAJOR damage, but really? The valet's job is 100% to take care of the car, and NOT damage it. Sigh. <_<

EDIT: And no, Snork, before you ask, I did not tell them I was the Overlord of All Things Banking and that I'd destroy them, before you ask if I said that or not. :P :P :P

I would just turn it in to your insurance agent, and let your insurance talk to Hiltons. - To H___ with the managers' investigation - that's just a stall tactic.

Oh you poor baby. Here, let me get you a tissue.

Call your insurance company and let them deal with it, that's why you pay them.

I was wondering where you went off to...was kind of afraid you let Snorkzilla scare you off or something. Glad to see you're made of crazier stronger stuff. Anyways Welcome back!

PS. Beware the Bunny. She looks all cute and sweet, but I've personally witnessed the very messy demise of a few posters by her paws. You have been warned Banker!

 I don't understand folks who spend thousands on German luxury cars, but then are too cheap to purchase the Paint Package  It's a car...overtime,its going to get some dents, wear and tear..

Were you cheap on your tip to the Valet? Every action has its consequences...

It was just a matter of time before you smartened up and stopped buying that inferior Japanese crap. Now the car gods have it in for you for your misbehavior.

a. I was itching to start typing just that. Dammit.

b. At least we know where you went wrong. They probably took it for a joyride, as well. I bet that doesn't happen to Tom Cruise.

Firstly; yes, I did buy the paint/chip/dent/wear/whatever package. However, my opinion is that the underwriter of that policy should not have to pay for someone else's ignorance and stupidity, especially when it's a valet's job to store your car. Not that hard.

Secondly; Nem, I've been busy with work and life and shit like that. Snork hasn't scared me away. Heck, she and I seem to get along pretty well these days. :P

Thirdly; yes, Frosty, I finally decided to switch from a Japanese economy sedan to a German performance/luxury sedan. I'm quite enjoying it and its RWD, among other things. ;)

Fourthly; Snork: :beee: :P

And as I stand here fuming because the valets seem to have LOST my car (and because I am changing hotels today all of my luggage), I think I am inclined to agree with you.

I love valet parking. I want to get to the lobby bar as quickly as humanly possible.

Besides, you should have a hot woman with you, hot women wear 4 inch or higher heels. Multi angled garage floors is difficult for them to walk in, have a heart.

the odd thing is here in Vegas our cars get taken to the garage but the last couple times in LA our car gets parked out front right by the valley desk. I laughed last time because it was parked between a Bently and a Tesla.
