If you have a CC permit, WRAL has your house listed on their map.

See the little box on the bottom right? You can look up which houses on a street have permit holders living there.

If something happens, I hope they get sued into oblivion. That is inviting danger in so many ways.

On the other hand... I wonder if permits issued in other states appear. If not, I would suggest anyone that doesn't have a permit already to get theirs in SC, VA, FL, etc. They will issue to non-residents and the permits are widely accepted in other states, especially Florida's.

It's inaccurate. Or doesn't work in Firefox or Explorer. Or has been disabled. Neither Dh and I nor any of our neighbors who I know have CCWs show up. :dntknw:

Either way, it's pure effen genius to go and piss off a bunch of gun owners. Morons. (WRAL) Needless to say I won't be watching their newscasts or reading their website. What they did with this map (or tried to do) served no purpose at all.

I'd forgotten about that too... guess who: Arizona (big surprise  ), Alaska, Vermont, Wyoming, and Montana (outside city limits... isn't that the entire state? :dntknw: )

Virginia allows open carry without a license, but concealed requires a license. However, if you go downtown wearing your gun, you are likely to get arrested, because half the people, police included, don't know that it's legal. :D

I've often wondered if I would prefer open carry vs concealed carry. Open carry may deter "events" in the first place, but you lose the element of surprise.

As a woman? Concealed. The less yammering I have to listen to from others that think my gun is gonna jump out and bite them, the better.
