If I use an employee discount, for example A-Plan for Ford, will a CUDL be as helpful? How can a CUDL help me in addition to getting the employee discount? There aren't any CUDL's within 25 miles of where I live (for the manufacturers that I have access to the employee discount) and I don't want to have a long drive for any future servicing needs.

IMO most dealers have CUDL affiliations.

Who you finance with has no bearing on whether you would qualify for Ford's A plan to the best of my knowledge.

Let me try to clear up what I'm asking. My father or my uncle can get me an employee discount with either Ford or GM. I've read here that buying through a CUDL "can" much cheaper than if you went on your own. I read your pinned topic that sent me to the CUDL site that lists the dealerships in my area that have CUDL affiliations. None of them listed are in within 25 miles of my home. So I'm questioning that if I have the employee discount would I have an additional benefit of dealing with a CUDL? I hope that makes it a bit clearer :)

Sometimes CUDL rates with their credit union membership base may be less than those with traditional auto lenders.

Sometimes not.

The possibility of that would be the only benefit I could think of.

Okay thanks. That's what I was thinking as well and just wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
